So much to my bewilderment my car sits at dealer 5 weeks after running over a bolt that pierced both tire and wheel (see above link to thread). I never would have guessed that there was not a single wheel in the U.S. Maybe next week per parts department. At least the weather has sucked.
Looks like they have it sitting back in the boneyard behind the dealership. I wouldn't like that. Since I know how to change a tire/remove a wheel and have the tools to do it (that's a whole 'nuther thread) I'd want that thing home in my garage; when the new wheel / tire arrived I'd install myself at home.
Parts availability is non-existent. If you need an OEM component replaced - some parts have no ETA. Literally, you could be looking at months not weeks.
I'm not sure who makes the OEM wheels - typically it's BBS. BBS Motorsport is slow on a good day, but I'm not sure about BBS OEM.
Across the board, wheel production has ground to a halt it seems. Delays on aftermarket wheels are significant and apparently part of the issue is related to supply chain/logistics on the aluminum billets.
I have a set of HRE wheels coming in - I ordered them 6 months ago and it make take another month for them to arrive. Pre-COVID, the wait was about 6 weeks.

This area looks to to be a real mess. Appears to be a mishmash of service cars and a general parking lot for just about anything. Not what I would expect for a high end dealership. Get your car out of there ASAP. It's going to get damaged or vandalized.

settle down, its a parking lot. Cars sit in parking lots all day every day (and not in porsche dealerships) without being damaged.
At first this may sound surprising, but I've dealt with similar situations before, pre-COVID. Not a 1:1 scenario, but there was an issue with the infotainment system in my son's Mazda3 that required a replacement, and there was no ETA for that. It was a relatively common issue, just apparently no supply chain built around anything more than base manufacturing.
I'd consider just looking for a tolerable set of wheels and tires and using them as a winter set. They don't have to be high-end custom HREs, just enough to get your car back on the road. Fitment may still be an issue but I'm pretty sure you'd be able to figure something out from Tire Rack or similar... Assuming these were still running summer tires, you'd be doing yourself a favor anyway...
