While mine was bad gas, I wonder, for those of you who have had this issue, have you used a battery tender on your car?
Mine was about to go back on transport to me after they resolved, they took for one more test after sitting over weekend and………yep, error message is back. Keeping car for round 2 with techs……I have a bad feeling about this….

Is the error popping up during really hard acceleration to redline?

First post here… I’ve had the same code - took to shop and light had come off by the time I got it there - no history of code. 22 GTS around 2500 miles when it happened 3k now and runs fine.
I thought gremlins were only part of the VW banner? I have a lot to learn in the Porsche world I guess.
It’s under warranty so not too worried about it - just strange on such a car.
So i just got this same error today on my MY22 C4S manual.
Had a spirited drive for like 45 min, stopped at a grocery store for 10 minutes, got back in and when pulling out of the parking lot, went to shift from 2nd to 3rd and it started acting weird. Shifter was in 3rd, but before i let out the clutch i noticed 2 things- the red gear indicator by the speed in the dash was blinking and said 1 not 3, and the engine revved like it was matching in a downshift (was in sports plus mode). I pulled the shifter back to neutral tried again and it was still unsure, blinking and revving so i tried letting out the clutch and it recognized 3rd gear but then flashed the error.
I pulled over, stopped the engine for a few seconds. Restarted and error cleared and shifting was normal for the 5 minute drive home. So weird.
I just had this exact same issue - Engine Control Error and Start/Stop Failure along with flickering gear indicator light and engine revving. My car is a 2023 GTS Coupe with 300 miles (and very easy miles at that nothing over 4000 RPM). I'm going to take it in the get it checked this week. Any further info on this with your car? thanks in advance.

This is happening far too often of late. Mine has been at the dealer for two weeks now. The latest is they are waiting on Fuel Injectors to arrive. Still no clue what is behind it or if this will fix it. 2023 C4S with 1300 miles.
I think there are two treads on this and I updated the other one. I had this happpen twice. On 2nd visit, Dealer swapped the plugs and coils in a specific way to figure out the issue and told me, “the problem will come back”. Except it didn’t. I realized I was on the same tank of gas. Filled up at station across from dealer and all has been good since.
Having same issue with 2023 911 T with 6,000 miles. Car not modified or on a tender. I am at dealer now with car waiting to hear their report.
Edit Update: Ok dealer cleared the check engine light and unable to determine the cause of the fault. Dealer Advised me to go drive it and let them know if fault message comes back. So far after 10 miles fault has not come back. Fingers crossed
I experienced the same error about a year ago. The error disappeared after a restart, and the dealer did not see any permanent codes stored. The same error popped up recently, and went away after a restart, but the engine had a noticeable misfire that remained during acceleration. The dealer confirmed the issue and replaced a coil pack to correct the misfire. I suspect that the previous error was due to the same cause.
Just got this error yesterday. T with 300 miles on it. Never above 4000 rpms. I was accelerating in 2nd and the error came on. Engine sounded horrible - like a box of rocks. Car could barely limp home with reduced power. Got it towed to dealership.

So its been confirmed it is a coil pack?
No, it's likely to be injectors. You need to pull the codes when the error is active and check against TSB 2236.
^ this. Pull codes and they will point you in right direction. Most likely injectors as discussed in post above and TSB provided. If it is a coil pack causing a misfire, code will be P0300 - P0306 depending on cylinder.
My 2021 C4S (6800 miles) just had this warning come up. Was on highway, at about 2,000 RPM, went to pass someone and the engine shuddered 3 times really quickly, and the warning appeared. Drove home, about 10 miles more without issue, and cycled car off and on at home, and message went away. Going to call dealer on Monday to have them take a look at it.
