Default Speedometer 992

Can we please ask as a group for Porsche to do a software update on the 992 to draw a speedometer on our cars like they did on the 2022 models? The dash looks so stupid with that tiny thing. Why arent people complainimg about this? It looks really bad. If more people would ask their dealers maybe porsche would do something about it. Any thoughts? Happy new year

I have no interest — I prefer the minimal instrument.

The middle of my speedo is set to display my ACC info (following distance and lane keep) and I use the speedometer to measure the speed of the car in front of me. Genuinely useful. It’s effectively my ACC/radar instrument.

For my own speed, I use the digital speedometer on the tach.

I dont have ACC .. its just an empty space where a speedometer would look good. Thats why they did it in the 2022 models, they shoukd do it for everyone

Are there comparison pictures? I have a 2022 and dislike the way the virtual/analog speedo looks on the left. I usually keep the virtual cockpit with “reduced mode” on, hiding the virtual/analog speedometer entirely.

Yes, looks noticably fake looking as it is directly next to a real analog tach, plus the fact that it is mostly obstructed by the steering wheel anyway when in driving position.

Well not feeling so bad now. It was a big pet peeve of mine to not have a speedometer there to complete the old school vibe. Thanks!

Agreed, it looks like a pseudo-3D needle with fake lighting on a flat-display next to a real 3D analog needle. Also agreed that space is much more useful for ACC, Innodrive etc.

Mind you it's just software and should not be hard to make it switchable to make everyone happy!

I leave mine on navigation even though I normally use CarPlay; I do that as it displays the name of the road I’m on.

As an Old School 911 guy from the 1970's, if I write a letter to Porsche about gauges, it would be to ask for the Tach to be turnable like we used to do so that it was time to shift when the needle hit 12 O'Clock. Back then, each instrument was in its own rubber ring and could be rotated. Of course, most you guys drive automatics now so that would be of little use.

Speedometer? Who even looks at that? I sure don't. Just the Tach.....

can you post a picture? I don’t understand what you mean.. the speedometer seems plenty big in the left side of the instrument cluster..

the needle is tiny. Its useful i guess for people who have acc or i dont know what they call it but if you dont its pretty much wasted space.
