OK
...
The TOS of this thread is finding a duck tail (whether Chinese, German, Peruvian or whatever) for a 992. Political/racial commentaries will get you a warning and then a ban. We're talking about spoilers not what you think an entire country is responsible for. You want to proselytize that go elsewhere.
So let's get back to the subject at hand. Thank you

I would be curious to see the affect on the airflow of the car. When people place parts on a car, few ever ask this question.
Perhaps it won't have a huge impact, but it's worth exploring. Especially for those that may do some higher speed driving (track, etc).

One of the several questions I asked. However from the person who bought the item it's back to a basic fit where the problem lies. We'll see as this moves forward (or not). If folks have other sources please post, thank you

I make a sincere offer to you to be part of the solution you seek and you copout and criticize. Nice.

Do you not see a problem with someone moderating their own thread?

Would be great if suncoast or whoever offered the stock 992 GT3’s ducktail rear spoiler w/o the swan neck. That looks just like this one but with OEM Porsche quality and fit/finish. I’d pay $2K-$3K for that OEM spoiler as long as it would fit a standard Carrera.

And I provided a sincere response and advice. As a regular user on here for a long while, I think the moderating has recently changed for the worse. The forums are being over moderated, with bias, and personal attacks. This thread is a perfect example.

We will not tolerate racial or national insults whether overt or via innuendos. If that's a change from the past; it's way overdue. You don't like it, go elsewhere.

I do not have a problem with someone moderating their own thread especially when it's about to go off the rails into a xenophobe train wreck by someone who attempts to do these type of things with practically every post and thus has been warned and banned many times. If you had accepted my offer to be a moderator you would be able to see behind the scenes and be privy to all of this. Things look a little different from that side.

I have found that in general, the lower the price of the add-on part you are looking at, the higher the likelihood of having significant fitment issues. This does not mean that if you pay a high price, you are guaranteed an OEM-like fit. Sometimes you pay too much and it’s still junk.

HA! Let's look at the very first post on this thread from our OP / Moderator (Siberian) - the title is posted as: CHINESE DUCK (TAIL).
It does not say "Aftermarket Duck Tail" or "EBAY Duck Tail" - it starts off with the first word "Chinese". You can't come in later on in the thread and claim you are defending against racist remarks (China) when the very first title of of this thread implies questionable quality? Isn't that obvious from the title? Pot, meet Kettle.
I have no dog in this fight. However, any seller that charges $ 500 for shipping a part that at best would be around $ 120 to ship UPS clearly is making it painful to do any returns, and shipping is non-refundable, plus you would have to pay the return shipping. Right there - that should set off every consumer alarm bell you have, because its going to cost you $ 620 to even take a look at the part and you are out that if you don't like it. That's my issue with this part, I could care less where it originates.
Experience tells me you should buy factory made parts if they are available on body work items, if they are not, then a TUV certified maker as they have a standard to be held to (typically German) https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-T...0and%20fitment. Everyting else is really getting into crap-shoot territory.

And when a seller like Suncoast insists on sending a gasket UPS or FedEx changing you more than the product simply because of an arrangement they have with the shipper or it's "corporate policy" we're OK with that? Given size and bulk I don't have a problem with the cost.
As to paying return, MOST if not ALL vendors (unless they offer return labels) especially smaller companies, don't. Then there are those that require a whole process to get a return. This is a spoiler, not a pair of socks.
I paid a fellow Touareg member in Australia to make me a stainless steel skid plate, custom made - cost me about that much; and yes it was a custom fit (to a degree that I had to make some adjustments as no V8s were sold there) and that was about 400 bucks in 2017.
But I take your point on the title and I will change it hopefully in better taste. Thank you for pointing that out. The rest stands.

Here is the reply from Future Design
Mail 1:
Hi:

Mail 2:Hi Sir:
we do not keep the original photos or video about the "remove original spoiler", you can refer to our installation video the last part "the screwing the bolt" to remove the original spoiler
(around 0:58)
the electric function no impact:
This product is develop by "Future Design" we only sell it based on the FD logo
Hi sir, the shipping cost is the key in this market due to the dimension is big.
the shipping cost is around USD$450 for one piece, but maybe USD$ 650 for 3 piece (just example)
so, the group buy is already take a big advantage of the total cost.
of course, we can provide the discount, but even 30% off, the is around USD$270 for one piece.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 ----------------------------------------------------------------
I will await to see how this is resolved with the person who bought it and will reply expressing my concern as to the fit given experience of recent buyer.

Personally I wouldn't trust the spoiler in the up position as that is not an engineered solution like the actual oem spoiler. It appears made to fit and not interfere with the original operation, but I doubt it has been aero tested for performance in the deployed position. If anything the ducktail is by nature designed for a non-deployed airflow solution, and disabling the spoiler function would be required by the end user. Yay-not.
Lastly, on a non-racial note, I am wary of any overseas advertising, claims, descriptions, or review/question comments from sellers in which there are gross language errors. I feel that a reputable company can either employ or pay for proper text but when they do it in house and the result is such broken and poor English, it makes it harder for me take take them seriously. In my opinion if you cannot put the right amount of effort or expertise towards the way in which you communicate about your product in the market you want to succeed, you likely did not put near the requisite effort, expertise, or R&D into the actual product either. They do go hand in hand.

One thing I learned about putting on spoilers and then taking them to the track is that anytime you put aero on the back, you should be putting aero on the front as well. This is largely a guess - because you're not having access to a wind tunnel or similar, but rear only will give you quite a bit of squirrely front end lift at speeds over...say 100 mph. It will change the handling of the car, so you have to try to find an appropriate splitter on the front end to compensate.
The other thing I learned is that they slow the car down in straight line speed due to drag. On an E36 M3 I tried various spoilers on, I was surprised to see my car could no longer hit 134 mph on the main straight at Summit Point raceway, and with spoiler it dropped to 128 mph max speed (indicated). I had no data for cornering speeds back then, but my overall lap times didn't improve.
