It's a matter of personal preference. It DOES increase the possibility of scraping the front compared to the "standard" front fascia. The surround camera is in the center of the fascia near the top of the opening - you can see it in the pic below.
Thanks, yes I would imagine that forward front lip would get dinged up a little. What has been your experience? And it's hard to tell from the photo, how do you feel about the camera viz. the look of the front end. I must say, the sport design is definitely dressier and does seem to finish the front. Thanks again.
I come from a history of owning Corvettes so I'm very conscience of the low front end / scrape risk. You learn to anticipate problems and enter drive approaches at an angle. I do not have front axle lift and have not had any problems to date (owned car since early August, about 1800 miles now). I think the camera is fine - if you get auto cruise that has a hideous / Cyclops-esque eyeball that I find pretty obnoxious. I'm not an auto cruise guy - I monitor traffic in front and behind me and don't see the need for it. I had a 718 Cayman - the standard front on that is close to the appearance of the 911 Sport Design front so I'm happy for a change in appearance.
I personally think the sport design front makes the car look older/dated... the styling is very close to some of the 991 variants.... I don't think it looks bad, but not my cup of tea.
The "base" front end is very distinctive, and when I see one approaching from the front, I immediately know it's a 992, even from far away.
With Sport Design it's a double-take at first.
Personally I love the look of the sport design front and think it looks sportier and more traditional 911 than the standard open mouth look. I would 100% spec the sport design front on my build.
