I was told that Dakar allocations would go to those that spent the most dollars at their dealerships since the Dakar is limited.

That's no different to any other Porsche model in the US, dealer will sell to who they think is most worthy, as determined by the dealer and excluding any VIPs.

In the NYC area, I know one dealer is asking $200k ADM for the Sports Classic, $250k ADM for the Dakar. So you're looking at close to $500k for either car if you don't have a VIP allocation.

From my european point of view this makes little sense, as the availability of the Dakar is higher ...

I’m first in line for one at my dealer, but they don’t know if they’re going to get an allocation. Crossing my fingers…

For others with a deposit - please post when you start hearing about actual allocations! I’d love to know when that starts to happen.

Also, I placed my deposit before they announced the car, so I never discussed price with the dealer because there wasn’t one yet. I’ve been assuming it’ll be at MSRP, but I know that could be a pipe dream.

Anyone have experience with the dealer slapping a big adm on top of a deposit already placed? Would love some ideas on how to combat that and/or what my negotiating options look like.
