At the moment, driving an electric car is a political statement. It certainly doesn't do anything good for the environment. Truth-be-told, they're only for sale to the public because of governmental interference with the free market driven by politicians who know little or nothing about science.
Without this significant government intrusion, only Al Gore and the Prince of Wales would own an EV.
Someday we may be forced to drive electric vehicles out of necessity, but for now they are on the roads because of politicians, not because of economics or science.

Why don't you keep your delivery of the Taycan and sell it for MSRP once you get it. Right now even those cars are going for MSRP or a little better. I am sure you can at least not loose 5K.
Or alternatively trade it in once you get it for a 992 or whatever you want. With the market on cars being unprecedented right now, why not take delivery and decide what you want to do.
PS. My buddy next door to me, has a few 911s (a 991.2 Turbo S, and a older 911) he also bought a Taycan Turbo S (or whatever the top variant is) and uses it for his daily family car and loves it. Probably because he has a few cars to scratch a few needs. But he loves it, and raves about it (he also had a Tesla Model S before the Taycan - raves about the fit and finish, being much better in the Porsche, etc.) So assuming Porsche will fix the recall (of course) - who is to say you might not like it when you get it. If not - trade it or sell it outright privately.

OP...keep your Taycan if you want that type of car for your daily drive or "other" car IF as others have said you can afford the option. Otherwise buy a GT Cayman 4.0 or 992 or whatever you so desire and have the yin for/or your yang.

Hi guys,
I couldn't figure it out with my own dealer. My own 992 was sold (already) and I would get 25000 euros less for the Taycan. In the end I went to another dealer and there was a 992 CS from 2020 with really all the options you can think of in Aventurine green.
I instantly fell in love with the car. Wanted to order a new GTS but didn't think the GTS options were worth the extra money and I am not so sure of the centerlock wheels in black. The sound above the 6000 RPM is definitely better on the GTS versus the S. Speedwise I think the Carrera S is fast enough for me.
Next week I'll trade the Taycan with 790km for the 992 and can't wait!
Thanks for all your support!

Now..... don't.... do..... it..... again! Surrendering to convention never ends well. If you want to be environmentally conscious buy a Nissan Leaf or one of the VW e cars - but keep the 911!

leaf or i3 are ugly and I wouldnt own them on looks alone, so there is that for me.
and before anyone starts again about how Taycan weighs 2.2tons, have you looked at the weight of Audi RS6?
i totally get why OP would wanna get an EV. Who knows, the politicans today are scaring everyone in europe to ditch fossil fuel cars and consumption and all with that 2 degree scenario. Why? Guess which land mass disappears most with sea rise? Its just new york for you, and like 1/3 of whoole bloody europe here. There is some merit to being concerned I suppose.
