Default 911 GTS Allocation with no Markup?

Has anyone had any luck finding dealerships with the promise of no dealer markup on 911 GTS orders (once they can start taking them officially)?

I feel pretty confident I could get a GTS at sticker from my dealer. That said, without an established relationship, it's going to be harder to get an early allocation, period. There are going to be existing long term clients who have the inside track on these early spots. Nevermind that Porsche is not exactly slinging GTS allocations around right now very liberally. I suspect many dealers haven't had a chance at one, yet.

Agree with ipse dixit, with patience I feel like a GTS at sticker is doable for anyone.

Thats somewhat of a relief to here. Just worried that these supply issues never work themselves out and t adms become the new norm. I dont have any experience with purchasing a new Porsche so maybe this has always been the norm. Hope to get my dream car in the next few years so hopefully these issues will not be so extreme.

I placed a deposit back in July with local dealer for a 2022 Targa GTS at MSRP. Now the tough part is the long and uncertain wait for delivery.

long and uncertain indeed! I am half debating asking for a turbo instead, but that seems to be a long line as well :/

Chip shortages are going to continue in 22 so I don't expect early GTS allocations to be easy to come by...I'm holding out until the end of 22 or early 23.

There is value to building a relationship with a dealer. Getting an allocation and/or getting a car without mark-up is a much easier thing to do when you've "gone all the way" with a particular dealer before, ie. bought a car or two from them. It immediately elevates you over everyone else just calling or emailing them. It helps to be a familiar face.

I recently lucked out on a non-Porsche allocation, because the manager knew of me from working at another dealership group. He also happened to follow me on Instagram.

The harsh reality is that those allocation waiting lists don't trump other factors like an existing customer or other relationship. A $2k waiting list deposit doesn't win a rock-paper-scissors contest with an existing customer walking in the door that has already spent half a million or more at that dealership over the years. There's a reason why there's zero transparency on their upcoming allocations. The mechanics of it are more like an airline standby list where the million-miler guy does get to cut ahead of everyone else.

Yes. I have a 20 yr relationship with the sa & dealership and my 992 GTS will be the 4th Porsche I purchased through them. Plus many year of service for Porsches and an Audi.
