Really all still there just looks different but in my opinion no easier to access. Stop/start for me was always much easier to push the sport button, a one step process, rather than going to my screen then pushing the widget/tile. Still the same on 6.0
So I assume this means Auto Start/Stop and PSE options still does not “persist”? Meaning they still reset back to On and Off respectively, when you restart the car?
Thats a bummer if so. I was hoping the way the PCM looked in some of the videos, it might have been persistent toggles.

Auto Start/Stop wouldn't persist because of EPA regulations. Automakers will only get full credit for the fuel savings from that feature if they default it to turn on every restart.
Yes and also has a great new dash option which I simply love.
after all the whining and complaints of the blocked outside gauges I'm surprised I haven't heard more about this. I actually think its a great option for when you want a more focused driving experience.
Interested to see if Porsche carried over the GT3 shift light setup into the MY22 Carrera models. That would be great if they did. Do you have a link?

I’m surprised as well. I’m sure the complainers are already in the process of trading in their MY20/21 just after reading this thread.
Personally, I don’t mind a little obstruction in my 911 driving experiences.

Yeah, but it’s still different with the air cooled cars. The blockage is not really the same. You can still make out the data pretty well. Above 90 MPH, it can get tricky on the speedo, but that doesn’t come up too often.
I have to admit the 5 gauge layout on the 992 simply doesn’t work as a design. The clock is practically invisible. I think I’d prefer the cleaner layout though I really wish they’d design a stacked gauge cluster to mimic the 996-991 gauge design. It’s just too bad the minimized layout doesn’t have oil temp.

It blocks the oil temp gauge the most. I’d say that’s the most critical view in an air cooled car. Even a stock wheel would end up blocking the oil level & gas gauge 🤷🏼♂️
Point being. It’s not uncommon to have a small portion of the gauges blocked in some form. Yet here we are in the 992 forum complaining because we have to tilt our head 5 degrees to see the gas gauge. Doesn’t matter that a bright low gas light illuminates. People want to watch their meter go down!! 😂 The clock dial is redundant. I can see three different clocks in the cabin at one time.

Yeah, it is what it is. I’m not losing sleep over it. I’m grateful they kept a true analog tach at least.
Can someone with a 2022 confirm whether or not Porsche has nixed external SIM card support with the new PCM? There is no longer a SIM card slot available in the armrest.

Careful what you wish for. Porsche might go to the same type of “yoke” steering wheel used on the Plaid. I have one on my Cessna 172, as do all planes (that I am aware of).
Honestly would not give up the classic 5-dial look for this. Unless it has the shift lights built into it like the GT3. That’s not a good look imo.
I only have 3 dials?
(Edit: oops, have 5, just never saw outside two). Damn GT steering wheel…

Something to note in using it. If you attempt to push the button and hold it like a standard homelink button, it will send multiple open and close signals which is not what you want. One single press and release and the garage door should operate.
Is this new for 2022? Mine always comes up on screen. Single biggest PITA.
I'm guessing it is, but I've only driven my 2022. I can only compare it too what others write about their MY20-21 992's.
Yea, I only have one profile setup - and when I go to assign that key, I have one choice for homelink. I simply hate the way they implemented this -and yes, today, my new garage door opener remote comes in so I can re-live the 80s and have a separate control hanging around for opening and closing my garage door. Makes me feel glad about how much I spent on the car
