Installed the Escort M2 today on my Blendmount with a Uniden radar detector. M2 works as advertised, can hardly notice it. The accompanying app is pretty clunky but it works. See install picture and sample video attached.

Looks like I can’t upload a video. I am planning on the same install in my 911 when it arrives.

I have a mirror tap that goes to the cam and the cam has a rj-11 pass through power that plugs into the detector. So you need a radar detector powered by rj-11 with the plug on the right of the detector. For example, the Uniden R3 would not work unless you got some kind of extension cable because the plug is on the left.

It would make sense for the manufacturers to place a couple of accessory power ports in the rearview mirror.

Got mine today too! Played around with it a bit in my wife’s ride. Seems like it will be fine for me.

Yeah it’s good for me also. The app takes a little while to bring up the videos but it works, other than that just what I was looking for. Nice clean and easy install.

After a few days with the Escort M2 here are my thoughts:
Both day and night videos are good.
The app has issues:
The Gallary where you view videos is slow to come up and locks up occasionally.
The app thinks the M2 needs a firmware update. When you try to update the firmware downloads fine and then locks up the app.
If you don’t already have a radar detector you might want to consider Escorts all in one MAXCam 360C. Better video quality and a nice clean package. I am still planning on running a Uniden R7 with the Escort M2.

I think that’s a good plan. Vortex radar on YouTube has a long unboxing video of the MAXCam. I just watched the first few minutes and was surprised how big the MAXCam is.

A Dash Cam is also good at preventing a Tech from overdriving your car when servicing. This tech forgot the C8 has a built in data recorder which fully documented his 148 mph joy ride!
