A little. If I were to paint it, I would PPF the darn thing. But I like the contrast with the matte black bits.

I realized that as soon as I got out of the car the first time. Can’t step straight down. I also meant rock chips. The rockers get hammered with rocks as you drive along (at least where I am). I would PPF them if painted.

115 for shipping? My dealer ordered mine for me at a 10% discount and free shipping. They hit the dealer 2 days after he ordered. I have yet to find any good deal on suncoast that my dealer couldn’t beat and not have to pay shipping.

Similar experience here. Check your local dealer folks. Mine was also cheaper and no shipping on top of it.

But definitely get them painted. IDK why people are leaving them matte on their carreras. It gets lost in the shadows and defeats the purpose of having them. Its matte on the GT3 cause it flows with the matte bottom front and rear bumpers. IMO.
It seems high to me too. The shop says they have to prime the parts, paint them, sand them down and paint again for it to work right. I think I will just coat them in GTech ceramic and stick them on. Then if I put the car back to stock later I can sell them easier.

Porsche tax. Yea. The guys made some good points above for not painting. Then I got to thinking CF wrap maybe...

What? Who paints something and then sands it off? Sand, Primer, sand, paint, clear, clear…wet sand/polish optional depending on your expectations. 911’s don’t have a show car paint job. They have orange peel etc. The factory isn’t doing anything special to these parts to make them look better than any other car out there

It's not as easy as what you just said. The smooth plastic that is similar to a bumper cover is as you described. The matte textured finish that is exposed on the skirt is not meant to be painted. If it is sanded first, it forms tiny hair like fibers....so it has to be prep it as if painting a smooth plastic but then after a filler primer is applied, it has to be sanded and prepped again before adding a base coat...and maybe repeated. So the charge to paint it is more than you might think.

Some might like this YouTube that explains it better..DIY

Any kind of wrap likely won't stick to it b/c it's a textured plastic finish.

He did not give me exact details of what would be done, just a general over-view. I assume he knows what he is doing, he ran the body shop for a large Porsche dealership for 30 years before going out on his own. Painting cars is something I know little about though.
