Default GTS vs. GT3 Touring

Price and availability aside which would you rather own? The N/A 4.0L GT3 Touring or the turbocharged 3.0L GTS.

The Touring. I’d take that beautiful NA power plant while I still can.

Yes and a good after market exhaust that can bring it to full song.

  • Do you have any need for the backseats?
  • Are you driving in densely populated areas where torque/acceleration is useful?
  • Is comfort important to you for long distance driving?

If you answered YES to any of the above, get a GTS, Carrera S, TTS or anything other than a GT3. For many people, the GTS or S will be the faster car in most circumstances.

That being said, if you can live with the above compromises and can afford the ADM, get the GT3.

Motortrend weighed the GT3s. The Touring version is 100lbs heavier than the fixed wing car thanks to the hydraulic active aero.

The winged car is lighter than the 991.2 GT3.

I’d actually be really interested to see which is faster 0-60 gts or touring (both pdk) thoughts? Obviously around a track it wouldn’t be close.

No use for the near worthless 911 backseat, able to pay ADM but would not do so, and likely would never take the car on any long road trips. I would also be going with an aftermarket ECU calibration which is obviously going yield far more power on a turbocharged setup.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Neither. I would get an S or 4S, load it up on options and tune that.

If you have a kid, the rear seat is extremely useful.

I've been kinda leaning that way especially considering the availability and ADMs on the GT3s. I'd really like a N/A new 992 but there is much to consider.

I do but she is 30 years old, 5' 9", and lives 1200 miles away.

I have a '16 GTS and was really interested to see what the new one would be like. Looks like a really good car but price creep is what got me. $160 or so plus taxes and fees. For that money I'll keep mine or stretch for a GT3.

This. Plus the kid thing. I don’t like the GTS package and want the back seats so neither is all that appealing. Stick with my S.
