Android is 80+ % of the world market

This. It’s 100% this. BMW has even gone on record to say that the slow roll out of Android Auto on their cars is because the vast majority of owners have Apple devices vs Android ones, thus they allocated resources to the most common denominator, while other brands catered more to Android Auto. Given that Porsche is up market to BMW, I’m willing to bet the same reasoning applies.

Their profits probably come from the fact that most of their products are made by slave labor in China. Same for Nike. If you are against slavery then I assume most BLM people don't buy Apple or Nike products.

My 992 base is coming with Android Auto. I personally hate the iOS interface. I prefer to have a clean home screen with just 4 folders. I also like the 3 home buttons at the bottom of the screen. iOS is a pain in the *** imo.

There are no clean actors when it comes to electronics, clothing and many other consumer goods :

”If you thought that Samsung may be a better choice, think again. Back in 2016, the company was accused of poisoning its own workers. Around 200 employees have either died or been stricken with serious illness after working on a Samsung production line. These individuals were diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma and MS, despite being in their late 20s or early 30s. Samsung has denied the accusations, telling BBC News that the safety of its workers is its highest priority, but the company has since allowed inspectors inside its facilities. In addition, one of the employees who passed away was awarded compensation by a South Korean appeals court.China Labor Watch, a non-profit that examines working conditions, has also found instances of child labor on Samsung lines. In 2012, a supplier was found employing children as young as 14 -- who had their pay docked when they were unable to work due to an injury. The company has since outlined a code of conduct for its supplier responsibility practices, which includes a commitment to banning child labor, paying a minimum wage and a ban on inhumane treatment. In 2015, China Labor Watch was still finding failings in facilities used by Samsung to produce its devices.”

you can have folders in iOS. I use them to categorize everything so I can find it and now they have a new automatically generated folder section (not sure what you call it) that helps you find your apps. And for harder to find apps you can text or Siri search. It’s very simple to say Siri open x.

Yes, Android represents a large majority of the market.
Yes, Porsche drivers skew more heavily towards iOS. But Android makes up a significant portion of Porsche drivers.
Porsche is finally adding Android Auto which is a win for everyone. I'd love if there was a way to retrofit to my MY21, but I'm assuming that's not possible.

“The Porsche North America CEO explained that among Porsche owners in the United States, 91% use an Apple device. That’s a very high percentage, especially when you consider Apple’s overall marketshare in the United States compared to Android.Meanwhile, if you look at China, Zellmer said that 80% of Porsche customers use an Apple device.”
That said, and no mater who has the dominant share, just offer both platforms to keep all their customers happy.

Just like others said, Apple makes up the majority of $1,000 plus phones. Android makes up a much lower percentage at the high end. Outside the US, iPhones cost a lot more than we pay here, which is where we see the majority of people with androids as they encompass a big range from cheaper all the way up to very expensive.

Apple was smart and very early on marketed to hospital systems. Two of the hospital systems in my neck of the woods picked up your data plan if you bought an iPhone in the early days.

iPhone and Apple dominates the higher end market. Which is where the profits are.
