Nick does a fairly good job of providing descriptions and context that Porsche has not. Another fellow, a salesman (Alexander de Pooter) in a Florida Porsche Dealership takes a rather different tack, but I find them, when taken together, both to be very helpful and complementary. I'm glad they both take the time and interest to produce that which Porsche (and other manufacturers) should be doing.
Exactly this.

Every hobby has the same problem. Veterans hate the popular mouthpieces b/c around every corner they get to pick on a particular nuance they find untrue. But what these veterans forget is that what they've accumulated in knowledge and experience over many, many years there are new people to the hobby who have no way of reflecting on their own personal knowledge to make buying decisions. The old guard in the wine world hated Robert Parker, yet you'll find Wine Advocate scores on every bottle in the wine store.

Nick Murray isn't for you, guy who has owned 19 Porsches. He's for people like me who is buying his first one and just wanted to hear some opinions. And as much as you don't like it, Mr. Veteran, his videos are a hell of a lot more entertaining than your cranky, absolute opinion in a 15 word anonymous post on a message board. His videos absolutely provided service in my buying decisions and thankful for them.....I'm much happier knowing the options I've picked suit me better than what I thought I was going to go with and by proxy has made me an even more enthusiastic owner. I suspect I'm not the only one and that's a benefit to the brand.

The funny thing is, now that I'm ready to take delivery, I don't need his videos anymore, but his haters will continue to click on them. Sweet irony.

I felt exactly as he is explaining on my 991.2 S to GTS. I will never do a GTS again. At least not on the 911.

S is "over braked"? Is that a thing?

I like the GTS pak for the power bump, the exclusivity, the wheels - dont care centre lock, but really like the style, the shorter shifter (manual), and yes, the bigger brakes. No, it's not the bargain it was in earlier model years, but this is a Porsche. If I wanted a bargain, I'd buy a Kia.

While his videos are always amusing and often helpful, it seems like this one was a bit of a rush. He didn't mention things like the upgraded suspension (lifted from the Turbo), and how certain options that come standard on the GTS can save you money even if you don't like the default--e.g., you can option the RS Spyder 5-lug wheels at no cost instead of the CLs. The Trim Inlays in Leather option that he loves is also a $0 option on the GTS. The GTS is a good deal if you like what you can get with it.

On the 911 is a lot of makeup. I don't like ancantara and the CL are a dead stop for me (at least it's an option). Extra power a tune, sport cats or X51 would do it.

The Panamera and Cayenne got the V8 back. On those I'd think about it.

More interesting is the question to wait for the .2S vs the GTS. Considering there's a typical hardware and power transfer from the GTS to S, S to base, it might be worth the few months more to get a similar package at a lower price. Normally they would be more than a year apart, but with everything that is happening, they will be fairly close.

Interesting. Haven’t heard of many who regret going GTS.

I very much agree with Nick on this one. The 992 GTS is what we used to term a "Badge Engineered" version of an existing model. Unless one was going to (or wanted to) order a C2S with all the options the GTS comes with, it's not exactly what I'd think of as "special".

I for one am in sync with Nick on this one. If they’d added the NA 4.0 engine then yeah, that’d be interesting. Porsche say they couldn’t but they also couldn’t do a GT4 for years, apparently, until suddenly they could. But this is just an obvious marketing move in my books. Cool if others see it differently, it’s all just opinions.

Okay Mr. Nick "hypocrite" Murray, now you've completely lost me.

BTW, his 991 with "electrical issues" was entirely his fault and not a lemon. I know the secret, proof is in the pudding. I discovered it on my own with my own car by accident.

Yeah, but all things being equal, if you have both options in front of you - the GTS almost always makes more sense.

I’d never trade a C2S into a GTS, but head to head the GTS wins, IMO.
