Curb weight for the 992 GTS (before the removal of weight option) is 3329 lbs. The 992 S curb weight is 3263 lbs. That’s a -66 lb advantage for the S. That’s about equivalent to the GTS carrying and extra 11 gallons of gas, or having a glass sunroof (versus no sunroof). By the way, this would not be the first example of a car with more HP clocking in at a slower time against a car with less HP. Lot of factors that determine things. Sorry, but weight DOES matter in Motorsport.
Since the difference is so small, anything (added weight, measurement error, different test conditions, different tires, etc) could have produced the results in the link I provided. I simply do not know the cause of the anomaly? But you asked do I believe it? Yes, I do.
But let me be clear here - I think we are talking about rounding error. Minutia.
If you think a 66 lb weight difference would cause the GTS to be measurably slower than the S under the same testing conditions, then I think I'm done trying to convince you otherwise. We can agree to disagree. I hope you have as much fun with your S as I will with my GTS!

Never said that the 66 lbs difference is the reason for the (apparent) disparity. I’m saying that there are a lot of factors, of which weight is just one, that could account for the difference. If weight was not a factor in performance, Porsche wouldn’t offer a weight reduction option on the GTS. But personally, I think test conditions, including the track/tire stickiness, and temp and humidity are also important factors to track times. .
In any event, I wish you too have fun with your new GTS. I do think both cars are fabulous driving cars. Cheers.

408mm vs 350mm front so 2.28” more rotor on GTS
380mm vs 350mm rear so 1.18” more rotor on GTS
I’d imagine the calipers are larger as well. I’m sure someone has access to the data to show the difference in weight just in the braking system differences.
My first 911, signing contract tomorrow, I'll need to have the brake callipers painted in a different colour, yellow or black maybe?
About $260k USD here in Australia with only $20k options, gotta love aussie tax.
^ I think you can spec black calipers, can you not? Yellow look good but as soon as you get it in your mind that the car now looks like a McDonald's sign, you can't un-see it.
I agree. I would either spec the black calipers or have a high end shop paint them Carmine Red.

Thanks, I think I’ll make that decision once the car is here.

I have an order for a GTS - it'll be my first 911 (though I've owned a few performance saloons over the years). I have a fixed budget and I'm trying to fit as much in to get the best 911I can. I've read through the threads on PDDC and 2 vs 4 wheel drive but have a slightly different question;
With a fixed budget only able to accommodate one of the two, would you recommend 4 wheel drive or PDDC? I plan to have RWS in either case.

save your money and get 2wd without PDCC, you don’t need it. Rear engine 911 have plenty of traction!
