992 Carrera Styling Superior to GT3 Touring
Hot Take: I think peoples lust for the is a strong signal to me that the
design is superior to that of any of the winged versions. I think that The GT3 Touring front scoop, while functional, seems out of place. I think what most people want is just a plain Carrera + NA engine + manual.
Obviously the NA engine in the GT3 is something special (and probably worth the price of admission). However, if Porsche decided to throw the 4.0 from the Cayman GTS/GT4 into the Carrera T it would absolutely blow the doors off any competitors and wouldn't hurt the GT3 sales much. The 3.0L would also still have a great spot in the lineup (likely for future hybridization + daily driveability).

Thoughts? (sorry for the bad formatting, not sure whats up there)

Granted, there's not an unattractive one in the bunch, but they're not all equally attractive.

The base 992 engine makes more torque and makes it much lower in the powerband. It also makes more horsepower than the GT4 engine everywhere until you get to the top of the rev range. The peak figures don't tell the story. You don't want a 911 with the engine from the GT4.

100% agree. There are four things that aesthetically really kill me with the GT3, and three of them apply as much to the Touring as they do to the normal, "full aero" car.
- The nostrils.
- The crevice between the outer bumper and the xenomorph-style "inner mouth."
- The gooseneck wing.
- The indentation in the rear bumper

The GT3 is way overblown imho...but many like it. I'm glad Porsche makes so many variances, but the pizza box on the rear trunk lid personally is a major turn off. Its also a very aggressive body design for everyday use. Race track wise though, no comparison, GT3 all day. For me, sigh...I am getting older now and prefer a more reserved / classic Carrera look, and the 922 checks many boxes. Cant go wrong either way though at the end of the day.
