For all those saying Porsche takes great pride in quality and precision, I agree. But I’m not quite sure that translates to the some of the general exterior assembly details.
When I was shopping a couple dealers last winter, I was shocked with how many screwups there were on showroom 992 cars.
One had a sport design side skirt in body color on the driver side and a standard black plastic on passenger.
Another had 3 Pirelli tires and 1 Goodyear.
And yet another with a full body color mirror on the one side and a standard black bottom mirror on the other.
A bit surprising that such obvious things are making it through QC - and that the dealers are surprised when you point it out.

Add to that list above - the 992 Turbo S with a passenger seat that didn’t match the drivers seat. It was something that should have been noticed before it left Germany.
With regard to the dealers and their ‘expertise’; I had an SA do a thorough walk around of my car prior to taking it in for service. Carefully examining every inch for pre-existing blemishes. He then pulled up a completely different car, model, year and color on his computer and told me my warranty had expired. Yeah man. That’s my previous car. And it’s silver, not grey like the one you just examined. Muppet.

I’m confused. My entire roof is black with the sunroof. And I have a gentian blue. Do they paint this sometimes and not others?
edit:ahhh, you have the non-glass version... VERY strange.
edit: I would think that might have happened at the port?

I can feel my OCD kick in just at the sight on the mix up. I would just have them repaint it...

I don't think this came from the factory. Looks like it was damaged and sent for paint at some point. They unfortunately used the wrong color.
Not a big deal but take a paint meter to it - does the panel that is the wrong color meter as a factory panel? Same as the rest of the car? This will tell you what you need to know.

If this is the factory paint process ^ how could that one panel be shot the wrong color?

i have a sunroof, that panel is a plastic panel on the back. It came like that from the factory, not sure if it was a mistake or they didnt have the part and right color and just used this one to not delay the manufacturing process. Theres no way they didnt catch this before sending it oversees. The reason they did not fix it is because its a super complex fix and dissasembly etc. my service guy advised me to not touch it. So i wont, ill learn to live with it or paint it later.

There was an owner in the 992 Turbo S sub section that had two completely different front seats. One seat was quilted and completely different two tone leather and the other was black IIRC.

I had an issue with my 997 delivered with the incorrect steering wheel. I had to pay for the upgrade, but without me asking, PCNA sent me a generous voucher…,
