- I like the way both of you think, but remember that ventilation works based on evaporation, so it’s actually drawing air away from you. If you pass gas, it’s actually sucking it away and expelling it… a worthwhile feature!

We clearly need answers pronto.

In my experience, I always felt like when you fart into the seat it sort of locks it in there and does a slow release, but the ventilated seats just blast it out of there into the cabin at once. It's a dangerous game.

Whenever I’m looking at any used cars on sites like Auto Trader, the first filter I check is manual transmission. If there’s no third pedal, I won’t even look.

I've bought new and old over the last 15 years or so but always from a main dealer. Just wouldn't trust a 3rd party dealer or private seller tbh. My experience with Porsche dealers has been fantastic, decent experience with BMW dealers - only average with Mercedes - their customer service and warranties are pretty hopeless tbh.

As a guy who has shopped used 911’s quite a bit, the things I look for in order are:

1) coupe
2) all wheel drive
3) any color but gray or silver - I will never buy a gray or silver car
4) sports chrono
5) interior must have a black dash

I can go either way on the manual/automatic transmission, it depends on my mood. The more performance options the better, PDCC, PASM, RAS, etc would be nice to have, but not deal breakers. Beyond that, nothing else matters to me in terms of options. Most of the expensive comfort options don’t really add anything to the driving experience so I’m not at all interested in having them.

Good point. I’d consider buying from a private party, but I’d expect a significant discount over what the same car would sell for at a dealer.

True - and lots not forget warranty! Just bought a used (late 2020) 992 and it came with 18 months warranty and they chucked in another year. Peace of mind is good :-)

@M3Inline6 Regarding mileage: I'd want a used 992 that was driven year-round, not stored over winter. A point A to point A "cruising" car, or a car driven for just a few hundred miles a month for 6-8 months a year and sits most of the time will deteriorate faster than a car that's literally used as a DD and sees 8,000 to 10,000 miles a year. I'd want one that's driven pretty hard, by an enthusiast, who has maintained it fastidiously, regularly romps to redline, knows why short trips are REALLY bad for the car and avoids them whenever possible.

Yup. Makes the seat uncomfortable and it looks like cra* when stuff is spilled on it and the ventilation holes get plugged up. My wife and I regularly eat and drink in our 992, and spills just wipe off on our 18-ways with no ventilation. Next to "no sunroof" this is near the top of the list of stuff I don't want in a 911.

Maybe the eating and drinking is the culprit... a 911 ain't a picknick place...
