Liberty Mutual. I get a corporate break through my company and go direct without having an agent.

Geico (Warren Buffet) is the armpit of p&c insurers. Chubb, PURE, Nationwide Private Client - OEM parts, a bit more expensive - you get what you pay for.

if you can afford a 911, you can afford to insure yourself appropriately.

I have PURE for my house and my 993 (agreed value)

Right now I’m using Travellers for the 911 C2S. I got a quote for my 992 TTS. ~$3900/yr with Traveller’s and ~$6000/yr for PURE. Not insignificant.

Wow - where do you live? I think I pay about $6K all in with Pure on 6 cars!

Probably can only guess/ascertain quality of any insurer vs premia paid, after one files a claim for a major umbrella/home/auto issue....and experiences their claims service or lack thereof....and one's subsequent premia

And all insured individuals have different risk profiles vs driving record/prior claim history/regional issues, etc etc, as do the various insurers vs various strata of insured and insurer's own balance sheet (think AIG in '08)....so a rather idiosyncratic discussion, though most high net worth drivers seem to favor one of the oligopoly of high-end insurers that high-end insurance brokers (and one's attorneys) seem to recommend based upon prior anecdotal history vs high-end insured clients facing major claims

Suspect, like much in life, one is ultimately self-insured for the really big tail risks that transcend a mere house or car....can't ever buy back/be fully compensated for one's health and/or time lost vs any major claim....

As an attorney who has dealt with less than reputable insurance companies, my best suggestion is to search your state's State Insurance Department for complaints on carriers. You'd be surprised how low mainstream insurers rank with regard to handling of claims, payment, etc.

Really… Interesting. I live on the Gulf Coast. Rates are high here for homes, in general, and a lot of companies won’t even insure homes down here. I didn’t think that extended to cars.

Agreed value on the 993 C4S ($140k) is about $2k. The TTS is $240k, so I wasn’t expecting a cheap rate, but I have no accidents or tickets in many years.

I had a similar experience with pure (but not quite as bad). I have home/auto/umbrella with them, and they wanted $4k/yr more to add the new GT3. I decided to keep our daily drivers with pure, and go Hagerty for the GT3.

You should consider the percentage of unsatisfied customers rather than the absolute number.
Obviously mainstream insurers would have more complaints since they have more customers.

Problem with small insurance firms is that there is a risk they go defunct before your case gets resolved (which could take years for a major accident with injuries).

The board of USAA annually authorizes a distribution to members from their subscriber's savings account. (I've been with USAA for decades, and I get about $400 rebated (plus or minus) each year). Distributions are not guaranteed, but I can't recall a year where I haven't gotten one. Your account typically grows over the years unless USAA has a catastrophic claims-paying experience, so if you have been a lifelong member, it is worth it to call them and get your balance. However, they send a statement to their members every year showing Subscriber Savings Account activity, so I'm surprised you are not getting yours.
I too never heard about this subscriber savings account. I have received credits on an approximate annual basis that has been applied to my bills. I have had USAA from when I began driving in the mid-1970's until December 2020. My rate skyrocketed when I traded a 991.2 C4S on a BMW M850ix, so I shopped. I found Progressive had materially lower rates for my four vehicles and home peril insurance so I switched to them. My auto insurance is about half of what USAA was charging me that was very surprising since it seemed that "forever" USAA could not be beat. I have had zero claims in a couple of decades and no bad driving history. Once I get my 992, I'm going to check with USAA again. I have two boats that have been insured with Progressive (through USAA) since USAA does not underwrite boats. I was shocked at the rate USAA quoted me once I purchased the M850 and I could not understand how a less valuable car could cost over double what it cost for my 991.2. I spoke with them to see if there was an error on their said but was told there was not.

Not sure about insurance with USAA yet, but their loan rates are great right now. Too bad i can't lock in until car arrives in 2022.

USAA is one of the top insurers in NYS as is AAA, the oldest insurer in the country I believe. I'm with the latter and get great rates

Isn't USAA only for people/families who have served the military?
Are there so many veterans here?
