You remember the story about the mother cooking a soup in the kitchen for her family?
She asks every member what they dont want in it, as they come into the kitchen.
At dinner time she serves them a nice hot bowl of water.
This is the same but in reverse!
So I will add my opinion just to confuse you even more.
If I was buying a 992 to track it, I would pile on the speed options. For the road ? No way.
Dont have any options, the basic car is already loaded and quick enough.
Chose your color, thats it. Sportex with contrasting stitching is a cheap and worthwhile option if you like it. The standard sears are fine. Very nice in fact.
Everything else just gives Mr P's profits a huge boost.
It is quicker than anything else on the road. It hardly ever get the chance to use full throttle, so whats the point in more? Dick wagging-that is what. My stripper spec car produces over 1.5gs in the corners and has been timed at 3.5 seconds to 60 on the draggy app.
Porsche have offered me over 90% of its value at 14 months to buy it back. That is without Sport Chrono. Now that is better than any Tesla or Mercedes I have owned. In fact my AMG E class was £65,000 new and only worth £28,000 18 months later with 4,000 miles on the clock.
The "small "wheels (19/20's) are huge. They also help protect you a little bit more from potholes than the 20/21s. Not much though, they are huge. Dont let anyone try and persuade you they are narrow. They are exactly 295mm wide at the rear, 1 centimeter narrower that the "S" tires, you cannot tell by looking. Incidentally, my first set lasted 16,000 miles on the rears, the front still have some life left in them.
They only worthwhile mod to the car is one Mr P does not offer. The massive rear tyres produce road noise which makes it difficult
to speak on hands free. Luckily the solution is to to line the rear wheel tubs with a specialist automotive product. The plastic liner has to be removed first. As to upgrading the stereo, I wonder what the point is unless you have fixed the drone. It is the door speakers on the basic unit that are the weak link, they are cheaply upgraded.
And finally, look at the MPGS it can achieve.

I agree with your comments whole heartedly, I have ordered a few more options than you have on yours but I think my car will be one of the most lowly specked cars out there. I don't really care what people say about the lack of options and as to resale value I am not worried about that either. Time may prove me wrong but I plan on keeping the car about 10 years it will probably have between 25k - 35k miles on it and will be exceptionally clean. Those attributes will make up for the lack of Sport Chrono. Some of the fluff that people choose to add to their car I feel is nice and I would like some of it myself but I do not see the value and for that reason I will not get it. To me the extra money is better off in my pocket than in Mr. Porsches pocket. A lot of the performance enhancement options I know would be wasted on me the capabilities of the standard car far exceed my driving abilities / reaction times, so why pay extra for more speed than I cannot use. A lot of people will disagree with this but probably a large proportion of people that drive a Porsche are not capable of driving the car to its limits safely. We all buy these cars for a reason and I think we all enjoy our cars equally regardless of the options we have chosen.

This thread has become super interesting - please keep the opinions coming!
Update for my situation:
I am going with the 14 way seats since my dealer didn't have the Sports Seats Plus on any of their cars for me to try out. I have driven on the 14 way and they seemed great - so won't be risking it. I really want the memory package because when you turn off the car, the seats back off and so does the steering wheel. Does the opposite when you turn it on. I really like this feature even though I would be the only one driving this.
I agree on the sunroof, I would want it since my interior is black and it does make the inside feel more spacious.
I think this thread has convinced me to go with leather interior package. I am probably gonna bite the bullet and take the black interior with chalk stitching.
I am not sure if my options will impact my build date yet. Here's what has happened: My sales person confirmed that I would get a '22 car this year. I already have a deposit down for over a month now. Apparently they got 3 C2s this year and I am number 3. He confirmed that he had already got the allocation for me. However, it's been over a week since he said that and I haven't received any official word other than his text messages. He keeps saying his sales manager still needs to allocate the build every time I follow up. Is this normal? I didn't follow up with other dealers because he guaranteed a '22 car when I put the deposit down, but the delay makes me fear that they probably screwed up somewhere.
, It was my first 911 and I truly enjoyed the drive. It had few options because I had not had enough of the Porsche option KoolAid LOL. Fast forward to today at age 72, I YOLO'd and ended up with 992 C2S because I am a manual fanatic since my first BMW 2002. Here's my configuration: PM7J9H70
