I mean I agree, Corvette has been targa for a long time and they are manually removable. I'd be all for one that pops out and stows under the glass or frunk.

It's actually more stiff.

Exactly thanks for that! So with this confirmed the "heavy" targa would be fine on springs. I do like the JRZ coil overs though that would probably be an amazing ride.

I don't think the rigidity is why Porsche limits the suspension drop on the Targa; rather, it probably has more to do with how the additional weight of the Targa is distributed (i.e. top heavy).

Like it was mentioned wouldn't you want to lower the car then even more to reduce top heaviness. But it still corners excellent and most reviews cannot tell the difference. Remove before Race youtube channel dailys a 992 coupe and he stated it felt the same to him.

Apparently if you're driving a Targa hard on winding roads PDCC is suggested since SPASM isn't available. Not a direct replacement functionally, though.

I don't think it's as simple as reducing the ride height of the car.

Reduced ride height, coupled with the additional weight, results in a stiffer ride, which PAG has determined that the majority of Targa owners do not want. Heck, judging by some of the posts here on the 992 with respect to the hand-wringing over PASM versus SPASM ride quality, you'd imagine the majority of 992 non-Targa customers are looking more for S-Class ride comfort than Lotus Elise.

I understand that Targa riders want more comfort maybe... but that’s why the option (!) of sports suspension - like all other models - would have made sense.

remains strange
