Just a theory - Could be soap that dripped onto the skirts from sills that weren't cleaned properly. It dries clear, but when the car gets dirty, the dirt collects on the drips.

Its grease from manufacture process. Most new vehicles do it, not just VAG vehicles.

I find that a lot of water collects on the door sills and under the trim on this car when I wash it--I use a blower and a towel to get it all out so it doesn't drip and cause streaks. Also happens when it rains, then it's time to wash again!

I haven't washed it yet and it hasn't rained. I 'll chalk it up to manufacturer protective goop for shipping across the world. I am sure it will go away.

I recall someone posting that it was from the windshield washer reservoir that was overfilled if the dripping is located in that area.

I posted that. It’s not washer overflow, it happens regardless of how much fluid is in there, but it does appear when you use your washers. Perhaps its a manufacturing residue that gets washed out, happens on all cars but only visible on light colored ones. Mine’s still doing it after 8 months.

Do a search. There are plenty of posts confirming washer fluid overflow. I have personally experienced and remedied this issue with reduction in washer fluid level. You should be able to smell it if you wipe it with your finger. At least this is my experience.
Yes, water does run out of under the doors too after washing but this happens on cars not washed too and is most likely the washer fluid. After washing I blow out the sills and door areas with a Big Boi dryer and don’t get the after washing run out.

Yes, I read a lot of those other posts but in my case letting the fluid levels drop made no difference, as soon as I used the washers bingo - streaks/drips reappear. Plus washer fluid itself isn't a dark colour like this.
