Default 2021 Recall Notice: Loose Suspension Components

Didn't see this posted, I assume those impacted will get a notice, but wanted to share: https://www.autoevolution.com/pdf/ne...nts-158034.pdf

Looks like the worst that could happen is the suspension would come unfastened at high speed, spilling the occupants onto the road surface amongst flying pieces of car. So I'm not gonna worry about it.

Curious if this would apply to my vehicle that was just built 2 weeks ago and is still in Emden?

Thanks for sharing, from reading through the letter sounds like notification letters haven’t been approved and therefore not sent to dealers and owners. Looks like May 9th is the start date for the recall.

I’m going to share this letter with my SA as my car is on RoRo Siem Cicero scheduled to hit Jacksonville this week. Hopefully this can be checked and taken care of prior to taking delivery later this month.

If a recall applies to your car it has to be performed before delivery. If there should be parts needed for a recall and they are not available then a dealer CANNOT deliver the vehicle until such time that the recall notice is performed. If it is a service bulletin then it can be delivered.

Yes, this is exactly my concern as I’m purchasing out of state and have travel and transport arrangements in play for April 23rd. Just sent a email to my SA, but they’re on vacation this week.

Let the drama begin, escaped epa carb debacle only to get hit with a recall to potentially delay my dream...🥴

If the recall is relatively significant then why would they be waiting for May 9th?

I'll bet you're not affected - the manufacturer officially reported the issue Mar 10 (i.e. more than 2 weeks ago) and I hope one of the very first things done was to stop producing more cars with this issue as soon as it became known. Moreover, there are (only) 396 cars affected out of all of the 2021 911s/Caymans/Boxsters/Taycans they've built so far.

This tool didn't show the frunk latch recall for my VIN, which just got replaced during the scheduled service.

There were 396 total cars. Pretty sure any car in transit is not affected.

I just looked up my ‘21 Carrera S Coupe VIN in the recall search tool and nothing at the moment.

Track Your Dream shows my C2S with a Start Production date of March 10th, followed by a Production Completed date of March 15th. I have no idea if TYD is really accurate concerning dates of production, but I'll cross my fingers that they discovered this issue before they started tightening my car's suspension components. In any case, this seems like cause for an immediate recall, not something to be pushed off to the first half of May.

Is there any benefit to sending this letter to my SA now? I assume that if there is any issue with my car that needs addressing, they'll know for sure before I do.

Me too. No recalls affected or open campaigns. As I like it!
