I can't believe how you Americans put up with those stupid mirrors. I was astounded at the difference between aspherical ECE and flat US DOT mirrors (on the same car); there's just a lot less visibility. No wonder I see loads of people dangerously turning their head over the shoulder when changing lanes in the US, or just blindly depending on the blind-spot monitors and LCA - neither of which are necessary, obviously, but still...

It's called shoulder checking and it is considered good practice, in North America at least. In some jurisdictions, not doing it can fail your driving test. Even cars with apsherical mirrors have blind spots, albeit smaller than the mirrors we get.

When I took my US drivers test this was the one thing I was called out on. I did pass but yes, after 35 years behind the wheel they made me do a practical test....

I've always enjoyed this quote, and got curious after seeing your post. Apparently, it was "Abba Eban" responsible for the original quote which evolved into this one, incorrectly attributed to Churchill.

If it's a simple unit swap out (meaning no other electrical connections needed), all it takes is care in removing it from its current clasp (and of course not dropping it in the process), disconnecting and reconnecting and GENTLY pushing in a uniform manner the mirror back into place. Having done a few take outs (replacing the puddle lights for LEDs on my Touareg which should be the same approach) I always place sheets and rubber mats below in case I drop it inadvertently.

SunCoast only lists the driver side option.

It’s quite a bit wider, sorry but I’m not close to my car at present so can’t take a picture. Before I put it on I was constantly adjusting the mirror, now I never do. The only downside is it’s a little distorted, as expected, so there’s a little bit of brain training required which takes a day or two.
