I've always enjoyed this quote, and got curious after seeing your post. Apparently, it was "Abba Eban" responsible for the original quote which evolved into this one, incorrectly attributed to Churchill.

So - since euro spec cars have the aspherical mirrors - I figure Porsche doesn’t offer LCA to those cars?

It's called shoulder checking and it is considered good practice, in North America at least. In some jurisdictions, not doing it can fail your driving test. Even cars with apsherical mirrors have blind spots, albeit smaller than the mirrors we get.

When I took my US drivers test this was the one thing I was called out on. I did pass but yes, after 35 years behind the wheel they made me do a practical test....

He was also quoted as stating certain folks never miss an opportunity to miss and opportunity...

Thanks for the catch. My other favorite quote is “don’t believe everything you read on the internet” - Abraham Lincoln

It might just be that simple. Here's a 90 second side mirror swap out video from 2019 on a 911 GT3.
SunCoast only lists the driver side option.

Just follow the video that is two messages above. It's a simple swap.
Somewhere someone mentioned placing a blanket on the ground below the mirror during the process, just in case. That is excellent advise.

It’s quite a bit wider, sorry but I’m not close to my car at present so can’t take a picture. Before I put it on I was constantly adjusting the mirror, now I never do. The only downside is it’s a little distorted, as expected, so there’s a little bit of brain training required which takes a day or two.
