I was just informed that the navigation unit has been upgraded to MIB3 to match that of the Taycan. So a bit of a better interface for those ordering now.
I had been thinking after August as well, but with the configurator already changing to 2022's, it might be earlier. I guess it could depend on the backlog of ordered 2021's still not produced. My dealer is checking today.
Actually they made a major improvement that I would actually get me to select the glass sunroof with the 2022 if I wasn't on a 2021 allocation.
The 2021, if you selected glass sunroof, the strip of roof between the windshield and the sunroof was black and the strip between the sunroof and the back windshield was as well. When the pillars of body came up the windshield, with the glass sunroof option, they had an odd widening to them at the top, that broke up the color lines.
Now with the 2022, they have made all of the roof that is not sunroof body colored, just like on the steel sunroof version. Which in my opinion makes the glass sunroof car look so so so much better, so much that I would option a glass sunroof on a 2022 build but did not on my 2021 build.
2020/21 2022
Definitely subjective. I *liked* the blacked out roof panels, myself.
What about June build? I have a June build...aghhh.....2021 vs 2022....2 grand difference....that Shark Blue is so sweet
not sure what I prefer to get...the 2021 or 2022
Remote-controlled parking allows the driver to enter and leave a parking space via smartphone. The system automatically detects parallel and perpendicular parking spaces and measures their size. If the parking space is a sufficient size, the driver can exit the vehicle then initiate the park maneuvers. At the end of the parking maneuver, the vehicle is automatically switched off and locked.
Garage Pilot:
The Garage Pilot uses the same principle as the remote-controlled parking and is used when the vehicle is to be parked in a narrow garage without the driver being in the vehicle. The driver can also use this function to make the vehicle leave the garage.

So for those asking about build changes, etc. with regards to existing allocations and 2021 v 2022.
If you have an actual allocation, that allocation/build slot should be for 2021, especially if it is being built in April, May or June. Those are 2021 model year cars.
If you wanted a 2022 build instead, you cannot simply roll your allocation into 2022 and take the changes and pricing increase due to the following.
1. Your dealer would have to trade your slot to another dealer or sell it to another buyer or build it themselves for lot sales whoever is building it is still bound by your likely soon and upcoming freeze point. And dealers don't particularly like to change buyers with less than 4 weeks to freeze as that date can move and the new buyer gets very little time to make their obsessive compulsive decisions.
2. Your dealer would have to secure you a new allocation from the 2022 model year allocations which they get monthly or so, and that car likely won't start production till July/August or so with a September/October delivery as they change to the 2022 model year production schedule. The dealer may have a line of buyers for those slots, and they may not know when they will get those allocations.
They are limiting noise insulated glass to the TTS only and standard on GT3, according to the info sheet I received.
Dont know which statement is accurate.....its possible the config is not updated for those 2 models or the rationale that its around the tinting liability....which would exist regardless of model if it were true.
Hopefully its a sourcing issue and it comes back at some point during the year....

But glad I got my 2020 model when I did. $5000 CAD price increase since then, no quad exhaust tips, and Apple Car Play is a subscription option now? Yuck.
I placed a deposit on a confirmed 2021 Carrera S allocation that locks in April. Does this mean my car will now be bumped to a 2022 and cost $2K more? What if I want to stay with a 2021 model (I like the blacked out roof with glass sunroof option, free Apple CarPlay, and of course $2K cheaper price). Would I be able to stay with my 2021 build or are we all forced into a 2022 model?
Same question. Ready to put a deposit for a confirmed allocation. Wondering if I am forced to pay $2K for literally nothing.
I also noticed that the Bordeaux Red in the new configurator looks much darker - truer to its actual color. I'm not getting the 3D animation view on my MacBook.
It indeed looks darker on the new config. But if you change the virtual background, it becomes lighter.
