Not finding the 992s exciting. Am I the only one?

I really don't understand the point of your post. You really didn't understand what you were buying, maybe chasing the brand thinking it was the next step after BMW. Like others said, now is a great time to sell and move on.

Maybe try a 718 Spyder?

It’s always a little sad when realizing a dream falls flat. Kind of reminds me of my 10th high school reunion.

Dan Nagy,
No doubt... No electronic nannies and they were not as nearly well sorted out like they are today. But that is the answer for those that find modern fast and capable cars boring on the street. They need more challenge and stimulation. Going 0-60 under 3 seconds is great for bragging rights and a few launches in the Turbo S. The car itself is fantastic of course but the roads are still limited at 25, 35, 40 mph in around towns and cities but the car wants to do triple digits and so do you. It just doesn't feel like its going fast.
Driving an older 911 at anything even close to the limit, with all of its earlier handling quirks is much more challenging and the car does feel like it is going much faster. End result, the driver is stimulated much more.
Not going to argue any other points. The older cars are in need of upkeep, maintenance, they break down, they are finicky, you can't always find parts right away, etc... It is definitely not for everyone.
I also think the big part of the equation is the type of roads available to you to enjoy these toys. Stuck in traffic commuting to work in a 992 as a daily, does not exactly match the purpose and the pedigree of the 911.

My issue is that while my 997.1 C4S is fast and quick I do wish sometimes for something a bit quicker. Do I wish the base 992 came in a MT for both price savings and a little less power, yes, that would be the sweet spot, but I see the 992 C2S being a beast, and more importantly being far more stable than a somewhat rickety 13 year old 997.1. So I am looking forward to the 992. And the new level of luxury it brings with it.

I have ordered a 992 S coupe after a hiatus of being 911-less and hoping to keep this C2S for a very long time before everything turns electric and internal combustion cars and gas stations are banned all together...

Something tells me, though, that OP is not looking for that kind of experience.

Perhaps not, we all have our preferences and ideas of what a "fun" car is... I do admire enthusiasts that can hold on to classic/vintage cars to maintain and enjoy for decades.

I totally understand the op. For every day driving, the 911 is nothing special. People who say how they grin ear to ear after every drive...well, i dont understand them. What ive realized is that its more fun to drive a slow car fast. No joke, take a drive in a miata...you may love it and save 70k
I can tell you I drove a miata for many years and yes it does drive like its on rails but the lack of power can be really limiting. I love the day that I gave my Miata to my Porsche dealer and they gave me a 718 which was then replaced by a 992. I would never go back.

Just traded out of a Miata RF (targa) recently. It was a blast as far as pure, go-kart like handling and it felt like you are going much faster than you really are. Perfect sane speed sports car and a bargain at mid $30k price for the beautiful retractable top version. At 6'2", I was really pushing the limit of that car in terms of interior space though and it was not very comfortable for me on longer trips.

Subtlety. I think that's the thing about these cars; they are subtly very capable, they're not in-your-face like many other cars of similar price or performance and for many people they take time to grow into. Some people like that, some not so much. If that's not your thing all good, move on.

A 911 is not for everyone, myself included.
The only Porsche that excites me is one of the GT iterations (GT3/RS or GT2 RS).
Sell your car, move on, life's too short.

I have nothing but fond memories of my 997.1 C4S. Wish I would have kept it to this day but it is long gone and there were many others after. There is no end to the "more" HP and "faster" game...
I have ordered a 992 S coupe after a hiatus of being 911-less and hoping to keep this C2S for a very long time before everything turns electric and internal combustion cars and gas stations are banned all together...

Add to all that the 992 interior was such an improvement and the manual gearbox as well, that once I got an allocation for a C2S, I had to go for it, knowing that the manuals, the gas (or non-hybrid and non-manuals) will dodo bird us in the next 5-10. This was a chance to get a truly great car, while it is still to be had.

No 911 is exciting outside of GTs? Unaware...yikes. So much time spent posting to rennlist, so little time driving.
