Default 1st service timing

My car had a production date of 12/19/19. I purchased the car off the lot with 30 miles on the odometer on 7/29/20. I now have approximately 4,500 miles on it and I am getting the message that I am due for service. Any reason to rush in and get the 1st service done or should I wait until Im closer to the 1 year mark?

Samething happened to me. I purchased mine 5/20. I got the message to have the first service in February. I called the service department at the dealership and they said it was OK to wait until May as I had only 2000 miles at that time. Don't be concerned.

They should have reset the clock for you on Purchase date. Not only is it okay to wait but if you are talking about the free service Porsche will not honor it until around 9K miles or 11 months from date of Purchase (whichever comes sooner) and so even if you wanted it, it would be on your dime. That issue will continue to be an issue as it will perpetually warn you early for all services unless they remember to reset at each service and if you take it to a dealer that was not the one you purchased it from they will not reset for you (liability issues)

I’d wait for the year anniversary ... sadly, we don’t get the first service free north of the 49th.

Talking to a mate on Saturday who has a 991.2 T, he left his 1st service well past the 12 month date based on low miles. When he eventually went in a few months later they made him pay. Go figure.

My 2020 C2S purchased new in July 2020, with 72 miles on the odometer, is now reporting that my oil change is needed in 11 days (i.e., by end of May). I have ~1700 miles on it now. I'll wait until close to my 1-year anniversary.

I would check with your dealer, because you don't want to have a potential issue here.
