Yep being looking into this for a while, but alas given that VDub etc. are basing all their mpg's with *** they don't want to be accused (again) of lying when folks disable their *** permanently and get different metrics. A shame, but it's like not putting in a spare to save 60 pounds so you can be stranded for 4 hours waiting for a tow; but I guess that's what a roof rack is for - to put your spare.

I'll need to look at individual mode, thanx for the pointer.

The other item will of course be the home link, unless it becomes too much of a pain and I'll just do a 1980s and clip the remote to the visor.

Thanx Digits for the pointers, the wait is just "challenging"...

Congrats...now the wait begins...but may looking at that weather in CT currently I'd be itching to do the drive back Siberian. Do you regret the shipping choice now maybe just a little bit? Car looks great...black stripe is growing on me. What made you choose that vs usual door stripes/Porsche banding only?

No, not really. As I said, border crossings are still closed and by the time you add the cost of the flight, lodgings, gas and then a ferry (NOT cheap) and only runs twice a week which would incur further costs if you happen to get there just as the boat is leaving... In regular times, yes I would consider it. Today no regrets (well unless it arrives with a dented door of course).

As to the stripe, I was actually looking for a dual stripe (sans the Porsche logo) and this is as close as I found. The door version is as you mentioned "the usual banding", I was looking for something a wee bit different since I couldn't justify the Gulf Racing colors via PTS; wrap is still an option down the line if I'm really "unhappy" of course.

Yes, the next few weeks of waiting are going to be "challenging". A circle has no ends and so 40 years after my last 911, I return to the source. It's not a 383 Roadrunner or a 71 Cuda 440, but "it will do"

At some point in the future I'll follow the full Gulf wrap... I did this around 10 years ago on my 997, the bonnet was in serious need of a respray but I 'won' some vehicle graphics at a charity auction. The guy who did it used to do all of the livery for Colin McRae's rally cars and he was delighted not to be applying yet more business logos on the side of another white transit van. I messed around with the design in Forza motorsport on the Playstation and it gave him some ideas. It may not be everyone's cup of tea (and no doubt would cause a few purists to go into apoplectic shock) but I loved it - always got plenty of positive attention and I never failed to find it in the car park... my kids put up with it too

All I can say is your kids have good taste.

It would have been nice...but I just couldn't really wait 6 + months and throw $13k for a PTS when there are cheaper alternatives. Also the reason (other than I like the GR) I got a freebie color should I decide down the line to apply the wrap.

1970 Le Mans, the 917s...

John Wyer's Gulf Racing never won at Le Mans, but the livery is a memory that will stay with me for however long I have left here.

I’d have to agree, getting GR ‘free’ is a no brainer, especially when it looks that good! My wife got my RS3 wrapped in catalunya red to hide the mythos black metallic and it looks fantastic (I traded her older RS3 against my 992 so she got an upgrade at the same time &#128517. The quality of the wraps these days is sublime.

I’ve realised I’ve got a bit of an obsession with the gulf colours going on... thankfully my better half seems to like them too, otherwise I’d never have got away with this in my dressing room 😂

found another pic of my old 997C4S doing what it’s supposed to in the snow 😅 I managed to get to school but none of the students managed to get in for me to teach them😁

You’re another day closer to delivery! 👍

You're definitely lucky as I don't think TOWMBO would go for that in the dressing or any other room other than the garage - my side of course.

Love to see other folks enjoying their car year round! After clearing 20 inches of the white stuff with Olga a new dusting came today and temps are due to dip to -30F. So I just might, if I'm not careful, be able to test the brand new Michelin Alpin this year!

Another day closer indeed! Best form 65 North

Does look like it. I've got Michelin Alpin 5 ready on OZ Leggera 20/21" rims as winter tires. FWIW, the P Zeros came with the car and not a special order as some folks got other brands.

Porsche uses a "Just In Time" manufacturing process.
They will use multiple brands of tires as long as it is the same rating and are available.
In fact, in the past I have had a few 911's come in at the same time with different brand tires.

-30F!!! holy moly! Coldest we’ve ever had was -26C (-15F) and the toilet froze solid 😂
Looks like the Alpins will be getting a run out this year after all 👍
Edging ever closer to delivery, best wishes from a sunny Glasgow 😎
