Reading between the lines here, this is likely your first sports car, so you are overwhelmed by the car's performance to start with. In this case PDK would be a good choice.
For those that have become more numb to the speed over the years, MT is a great way to feel connected again.

As for the MT, it's by no means necessary "to feel connected", as many PDK proponents in this thread have noted.

I've read some reviews that insist that the RWD car has better steering because of the weight issue with AWD. I went with the C2S for that reason, and also because the vast majority of the opinions I sought said that there is absolutely no reason to get AWD unless you drive in snow and ice. (Yes, I know AWD is also an advantage in heavy rain, but the RWD in wet mode, driven sanely in a downpour, is supposed to be very safe).

The AWD is useful in all conditions, even on dry pavement with summer tires.

The problem you have is that unfortunately you are human. If you pick the PDK there will be days when you wish you had a manual. If you pick the manual there will be days when you wish you had the PDK...

After more than 18 months and 16k miles, I have never once wished that I had the manual in my C4S.
I understand why people want manual transmissions. Heck, I used to be a 3 pedal snob, but I have moved on and I am totally okay with it.

I've driven a 992 C4s and C2s back to back. The C2s felt a bit livelier. It was really subtle and there was probably some confirmation bias.
I converted my 993 C4s from AWD to RWD earlier this year. The difference in steering feel and dynamics was pretty huge. The steering became much more alive, the weighting and feedback was significantly improved while the steering effort dropped a good bit making the car feel so much lighter and tossable (never mind the actual weight loss).
It's a common trope to say AWD lacks feel and RWD is far superior. In my experience this is true...in the older cars with hydraulic steering/old school rear engine placement and lower powered NA motors. The newer cars, maybe not so much. I guess Porsche has engineered a ton of neutrality in these cars...I know the engine is a bit more midship and the newer cars have a lot of tech that mitigates some of the bad tendencies of AWD. Not to mention that all these cars have EPS which probably insulates you from feeling major differences and big power that minimizes the impact of dropping a 100 lbs of drivetrain and whatever parasitic loss.
Bottom line - the C4s is great and if I lived in the snow, I'd buy one.
Re: PDK vs Manual....if this is your only sports car, then I'd say get the manual. If you already have a manual transmission sports car in the garage, then get PDK. If you plan to use this car as a daily driver - PDK is really nice to live with.

I have a C4S and love it. I don’t think I could make an informed decision until I had several thousand miles on both cars. I have just under 2,000 miles on my car. Would I like a C2S better? Who knows, maybe my next car will be a C2S. I live in the foothills so I have the opportunity to drive some curvy uphill roads. I wonder how the 4S will act going uphill. It has been too cold to for me to take the summer tires up my favorite roads. I will say that I had a BMW X drive convertible before and could actually hear all 4 tires working on some of the sharp uphill turns. My C4S is a PDK due to some knee issues and I am happy with the PDK. My BIL has a manual Corvette and driving that can be fun until my knee objects.

Eh, I wouldn't make that assumption. Even if someone has driven faster sports cars than the 992, the modern 911s can be eye opening for folks that otherwise dismissed or considered them boring.
As for the MT, it's by no means necessary "to feel connected", as many PDK proponents in this thread have noted.

Didnt say the modern 911 was boring. Fact is if you are currently driving a car with 500tq and have become accustomed to it, going into a 911, your senses and therefore mind wont be overwhelmed by the sheer speed but will rather look for other things that make it special. Try to think back to the first time you experienced a certain level of performance and how you feel about it today.
And again I didnt say MT was necessary to feel connected. I said (and I repeat) for those for which have become numb to speed, it can give you a way to feel more connected.
This is what I thought. a 350z is nowhere near the power level of a 992.

Luke, trust the force...... Go with your feelings. Deep down inside you know what you want. Here's a trick. Take a quarter. Heads = C4S and tails = C2S. Now, clear your mind then flip the coin. As soon as the coin lands, focus on your feelings at seeing the result. If it's heads and you feel euphoric and happy, then that was the right choice. If it's heads and you feel a pang of regret or doubt, then the OTHER choice (tails) was the right result. I do this all the time when I cannot decide and it works pretty much all the time. Basically you are letting someone (in this case something) else decide for you, but the key is focusing on your immediate feelings. That's what will tell you if you made the right choice.

PDK vs manual is purely a personal preference thing. If you really want a manual, you have to go that way. But if you're not absolutely married to the idea, you don't miss anything with the PDK - it's absolutely amazing. I've had lots of manual sports cars in the past and I'm just over that, and I absolutely love the PDK. At this point I wouldn't trade it for a manual for anything. And as for the 4 vs 2, again, I've had both and all of my 911s have been 4 wheel drive. I cannot relate at all to those who claim the 4 gives some "artificial" feel. Maybe it's the engineering and the various handling programs, I have no idea. But to me, the handling is great and I feel totally in control when pushing the car pretty hard.
