One thing I don’t miss about SoCal is the constant stream of blimps that were always following me. Blimps are terrifying, you don’t really know if it’s Goodyear or war of the world aliens (reference Hunter Mayfield). It’s already easy enough for aliens to enslave us (reference Ambien and microwave ovens) why would Goodyear provide them with cover? Porsche needs to give more thought to their choice of OEM tires. I’m replacing my Goodyears with Michelins as soon as possible although the Michelin man looks like an alien to me.

Now insurance issue doesn’t really apply to USA peeps as I understand it, but putting a different size tyre and not N spec “could” be deemed a modification and if not declared, a major incident (I’m talking death by dangerous driving) occurring means the insurance company would strip your car to the bolts to find anything to invalidate the policy and not have to pay out ££££ $$$$$ €€€€ to any victims.

@ryandarr1979 Why are you putting an oversized Panamera tyre (ND spec) on a 911?

Probably because Michelin does NOT have a PS4S 305 tire ... yet.

On a thread a while back someone put a MB spec 315/30/21 against a 911 tyre... so close in size you couldn’t tell with the naked eye.

I’d put money on these being the same.... now sidewall/compound/fitment.... it’s a risk but everyone’s level of risk is different, $1k best case loss, drive train/suspension/car write off at worst

Sorry I was on an early morning ham radio net and I didn't take the time to be specific enough. There is NO Michelin PS4S **PORSCHE** approved size yet in 305. Hopefully it will be here sooner rather than later.

Some tyres are slightly better in some areas than others or suit your preferences more, but none of them should be bad.
Plenty of manufacturers deliver cars with tires that suck.

There is an M spec 315/30/21 in the S4S. This is what I had planned to put on my TT.

like many others, mine came with p-zeros. have almost 6K on them and they've been fine. honestly better than expectations. will most likely switch to Michelin PS4S when it's time for new ones (if they're avail).

Because 305/30zr21s aren’t available in MPS4S size and the 315s are and are barely larger. “Oversized” is a little bit of a stretch, no pun intended.
