@Soul Performance I have a question:

I have a 2020 Carrera S. I ran your Soul cats for nearly a year and never threw a CEL.

Now I have the Sport cats that go with your non-valved (Street) exhaust and it is throwing CELs.

Are the sport cats with this exhaust different in some way from the original ones (other than the wider 3" diameter of the flow path, would that make a difference?) ? Thanks

Have you been in touch with our Customer Support regarding the codes you are seeing? The cores we are using are the same specifications between the 2 parts. Give us a shout!

^ Nah, I'm just asking to have the fault codes removed via tuner (M Engineering). I was just curious

I understand your approach to handling this,
but have you considered that your findings via customer support might help others who may be headed down the same rabbit hole?

Thanks

^ Just to be clear, Soul Performance has been very straight forward up front that sometimes their sport cats throw codes. So this didn't surprise me. I just was curious why my prior sport cats didn't throw a code, but my newer ones did, that's all. Not a big deal.

my understanding is the 992 gen is more susceptible to throwing codes w/ 200 cell sport cats installed than 991 series. Is that correct?

Is the exhaust compatible with non-PSE exhaust and quad tips?

Yes, this is true. We normally see it on 2021's and 2022's. I am happy to discuss solutions and work arounds by DM.

We do have a solution being tested on multiple 2022 cars I hope to be able to provide more details on very soon.

@Soul Performance , I just wanted to say that after some crappy weather, we had a good sunny day today and I finally did a very spirited drive with your Soul Performance Street Exhaust (valveless) in Sport Plus mode with the top down in my Cabriolet.

This thing sounds wicked awesome! With the downshifts you especially get a treat. I appreciate this exhaust more and more the more I drive it.

Again, not for everybody. But I’m quite happy with it. It’s an exhaust for the “young and the restless”, let’s just say

How is the drone during cold start and idle when warm? You don't have cats correct?

Hey Dave, any updates on this and as part of a solution are you also testing a higher cell count cat (300-400)?

I have sport cats, although you can certainly go catless. I don’t have cold start because I tuned it out.

Otherwise the exhaust does drone for sure. Around 1900 RPM or higher. Again, this is not a set up for everybody

I went out into the fabrication shop today to get some shots of the latest 992 Performance Exhaust System coming through the pipeline, built by Nick and Tyler.

The cat sections are fixed to an aluminum heat sink that also doubles as a block off plate and feed system for Argon gas as we back purge the welds. The following picture shows the end result of a back purged welding environment - proper penetration and a beautiful and durable interior weld. Read more about back purging and see examples of good and bad welds here.

Thank you for choosing us to outfit your Porsches with your systems!

-Mike
