Adding PSE after build

Adding PSE after build
Anyone here have any experience with adding PSE after the fact? Can a dealer easily add this and will the results be the same as if ordering the car with. Saw the parts on Suncoast and not sure what the labor costs would be like.
Will be ordering my vehicle and trying to stay within a certain range. I decided to go full leather instead of PSE as the full leather can’t be added on after the fact.
Any comments or tips appreciated, thanks.

I added PSE to my 991 after the fact. It was dealer installed and the same as had it been factory installed, including the switchable feature. I would guess that the 992 would be the same other than no button on the console but a tweak to the PCM. The dealer matched the Suncoast price for the parts. I didn’t pay for the install but it took less than a day. I’m sure any reputable indie dealer would also be able to do it but I wanted it covered under warranty. Good luck

Thanks for all the comments. I’m based in SoCal in Newport Beach. Do you mind letting me know which dealer? If costs are too high I will go without it for now, as I really want the leather interior. I skipped out on it in my 718 Cayman build and that was one of my regrets.

voyagez.fr I believe there's an independent shop near us that has the Porsche software/programing capabilities you're in need of. I believe (and I could be wrong) the name of the shop is True Performance on Dimension Drive in Lake Forest, Google and Yelp might be your friends, I'd guess.

Check off the option box and get it built with it. You'll save about $ 1,000 in the long run, and it will be on the VIN which is nice at resale time. False economy to add it after the fact when you have the option to build it into the car if ordering.

If you ever plan on getting an aftermarket exhaust then get he PSE. Theres almost no options available for non PSE vehicles right now.

it can be done but might be expensive
few years back ,I bought a 981 Boxter S off the lot that I decided to add PSE
I contacted like 5 dealers in my area and I got 5 different estimates that were far apart. But the best I can sum it , is the wiring to center console was additional 6 hrs of labor on top of 2-3 hrs for the actual exhaust plus the price of parts
so I gave up on the idea

I checked the box knowing I was going to very likely go aftermarket and had my Akrapovic Ti exhaust before my car was delivered waiting for installation. Was my 1st well 2nd upgrade after clear side markers and definitely IMHO give the 992 a much better sound footprint. Good luck..

If you're handy....install it yourself. You can buy the exhaust for about $3000 and Suncoast says it includes everything for the install . Check Akrapovik website for the basics. I was told electrical is all already down there so it SHOULD be plug and play in theory. The dealer will still need to code though.

My dealer installed PSE in my 991.1 for parts plus $1000. It was easier in the 991.2. I imagine it’s even easier in the 992 since it’s basically a simple install, replace rear valance (holding fake tips) and PIWIS flash.
