Great!... anxious to see that and your impression of the ride. Did you have RAS and FAL? What is the drop? My attempt at OEM sport springs installation failed (rear shock adaptability) today so looking for a sensible (quality) solution for a 25mm or so drop.

Only about 10 miles of drive time from the shop to my house....handling and ride quality feels the same or very similar. I didn't notice any difference. No sensor issues. I 1/2 finger gap in rear and 1 finger in front.

Here are the pics from last night...when it stops raining here in FL ill post some better ones.

^ that looks proper! Not as slammed as the H&Rs but juuuuust right. Glad to hear no sensor issues too. Look forward to hearing more feedback once you pile some miles on.

Is this just the springs or did you have the HAS installed? Looks fantastic btw. congrats. Looking forward to hearing more about ride quality and performance compared to OE.

It is something about the lines of those Targas and a conservative drop like this - looks fantastic. I am really interested in your opinion to ride quality because we know it has killer looks...

I think characterizing any issues as a slew, would be rather slanted and no representative of any true population sample. There are a few posts here on Rennlist regarding suspension fault errors, and from what I have read, they all appear to be possibly be related to installation error.

From my experience working with my own personal car and many other cars in the past, here is what can possibly go wrong when installing any lowering spring and/or coil-over sleeve/coil-over system on the 992.

1.) Damage to the actual shock itself. This can happen in many different ways such as dropping the shock assembly, however the most common is damaging the wiring for the PASM by using improper tools and/or technique when removing the strut assembly from the vehicle. The PASM wiring is located at the top off the shock assembly, where you unbolt the shaft to separate the physical shock from the upper shock mount assembly (AKA spring hat). If the shock strut is rotated greater than 360* during disassembly\/reassembly, the electronics of the shock can be damaged internally. The same goes for the wiring as it exists the shock strut, if the wiring gets twisted around the deep socket required to loosen/remove the strut, it can be damaged.

2.) Damage to the vehicle ride height sensor. The ride height sensors are made of plastic, as well as the small tie rod that connects the sensor to the chassis. During the removal and reinstallation of the coil spring and strut assembly, the ride height sensor can be damaged in many different ways. One of the ways is by leaving it connected when pulling down the lower wishbone of the suspension assembly to remove the spring/strut assembly, the other can be from physical force when removing the tie rod assembly, is a electronic component and needs to be treated with care. Best practice to follow as a technician is to only remove and reinstall the sensor when there is the vehicle weight on the suspension, thus the vehicle is in the required ride height position. Since this best practice should be followed when torquing the suspension components to spec (shock, wishbone, sway bar and end link), I recommend reconnecting the ride height sensor to the vehicle chassis after those tasks have been completed.

3.) Ride height of the vehicle is outside of the specification range as reposted by the ride height sensor to the DME. There are many ways that this can be corrected. You can use the PIWIS to recalibrate the vehicle ride height if you have that possibility as an option (access to PIWIS) or you can 1.) Change the length of the tie rod that connects the ride height sensor to "trick the DME" into thinking the ride height has no changed, or 2.) you could relocate the ride height sensor by making a different bracket to locate the ride height sensor in a different location (which would also trick the DME).

It is important to note that the vehicle ride height is crucial to many of the features associated with the 992 such as ACC, road sign recognition, predictive behavior of the PDK, headlight positioning and even the characteristics of the shocks as related to the PASM features.

With all that being said, it took much longer to type this, then the actual thoughts of the technician who knows what they are doing, since it is second nature to them. These small steps add up to additional time when quoting the job and make what appears to be a 6 hour job actually 8-9.

Couldn't be happier with the Techart springs. Went on a spirited drive this morning and the car handled beautifully,. M Engineering tune is awesome too!

that Targa looks stunning...just the right drop and my favorite 992 wheels.

I'd love to hear more feedback on the M-engineering tune once you gather more data. Didn't you say you were getting it dyno'd?

Thank you....my favorite wheels too...so much that I paid 8k after purchase for them! Yes, I'm going to get the exhaust installed in the next few days and then off to the dyno.

Thanks for the feedback Greg which was instrumental in my ordering some HAS Techart springs today...expect to see them here in Canada 3 or 4 weeks...so install will be timed for early spring when the car comes out. Going to drop 20mm each corner I think. Appreciate your being the alpha tester.

edit: Greg...one last thing...do you if the set was 30mm drop on each corner?

You're welcome....I don't mind being an alpha tester. 30 mm drop
