Default Seatbelt Colors: Chalk vs Silver Grey On Black Interior

Would you choose chalk seatbelts or silver grey seatbelts on a GT silver car with black interior? I'll also have white rev counter and Sport Chrono dial. The coloration in the configurator tells me next to nothing, and I can't find side-by-side pictures of Porsche seatbelt colors via Googling. Looks like silver grey might be just a bit lighter than chalk?

Are you worried the belts might get dirty? It seems they would be hard to clean.

My preference would be black, I find it way more durable

I wasn’t really too worried about that. There is another thread here on chalk seatbelts where this is addressed, and it sounds like they can be cleaned easy enough.

I have the Bordeaux/Black interior ordered with my car, went with the silver/grey seat belts, but I also did the brushed aluminum trim package and the bermester I included in my order has silver speaker grills so I think the silver/grey will accent it all off just fine. Agreed its hard to tell from the configurator. Not worried about keeping them clean either. I think (not sure) that Chalk would be closer to white.

chose not to spec the chalk seatbelts on a black interior but did do aluminum trim and burmeister. contrary to prior threads, a friend with yellow belts said they are more to maintain and as much as you want the contrast with the chalk belts, they are more of an eyesore with a stain on them that you can't get out.

I would opt for Chalk seatbelts. FF to 6:12.
The chalk (Crayon) looks better if you have also chalk stitching.

Having seen both, chalk looks white-ish, and silver will resemble GT Silver and more glossy.

As to dirt, unless you are Pigpen from Peanuts, your belts will not suffer any more wear and tear than if it was darker colored like black.

I had yellow belts on my 991 GT3 for 3 years and they were as bright and shiny as the day I bought the car. This was after more than 26K on the ODO.

I initially had chalk belts spec'ed but was talked out of it by a SA with experience with stained belts. Ended up with a GT silver C2S, with guard's red belts (and tac/SC dials) to match the big red calipers.

I have chalk belts, chalk stitching and white speed/clock inserts. They all match and look fantastic. I did have a moment before delivery where I wondered if the chalk would match the white dials. They do, not sure if GT Silver belts would too? Maybe, they are all very similar.

@findtom what color is your exterior?

I’m leaning toward a the Sport-Tex retro looking interior with chalk stitching and GT Silver exterior. Chalk sometimes looks too tan for me. Kind of torn between the Chalk vs “Silver Grey” belts and where to do white gauges or not (leaning to not, because already at $167K for my C4S coupe build already, which is nuts.

If you are doing GT Silver I think Silver Grey belts would match up (at least that’s my understanding).

Concerning the gauges: I had white, but deleted and went to no-cost black. I think they look stellar in white, but I simply couldn’t justify the cost. You can argue that it shouldn’t matter when you are spending ~$140k+ on a car, but it’s where I chose to draw the line for myself.

Also: Post your build code if you are willing! I always enjoy seeing C2S/C4S that have been highly customized...interested to see what $167k is getting you!

Here is my build code: PMU79PJ2

Still on the fence about Sport-Tex. Worried I might tire of it quickly or it might not look luxe enough (not having seen in person). Feels risky. So might switch to the full black leather with chalk stitching.

Undecided on the chalk vs silver belts. The chalk presumably would match stitching better, but the silver the paint. No idea which will match the Sport Tex though.
