Default Rims

So it seems my 992 will be a month early arriving in April vs May; this means snow on the ground for the ~400 odd miles between here and Anchorage. So I'm looking for (preferably) 19/20" inch rims or 20/21 if the former not available. Any recommendations? Also rim dimensions for the staggered set up. Would 991 rims work?

I'm assuming as Nokian alas doesn't make anything that Michelin Alpine is the only real option for where I live? Thanx for any pointers

I’ll bet you my Targa’s 19’s would work on your car but it seems that they’re likely going to the car’s next owner and shipping would be a PITA. I’m guessing offset for the front of a 992 would require spacers for 991 wheel. If you know what you need as far as wheel specs (incl ET) finding an quality yet affordable solution shouldn’t be hard. Others have done a square winter setup, there’s no reason why you couldn’t. Since you’re on the left side of the continent and north, perhaps check out 1010tires.com. good luck !

Thanx! They don't have any staggered set-ups, AAMOF they don't have anything even in square. They said to try Live chat since the automated selection doesn't seem to find anything. Will keep looking. Thanx again!

Tire Rack has a set of Leggera HLT 20/21s for $2,426.76 and Michelin Pilot Alpine...the search continues

Damon is a rep for Tire Rack, who are also a Rennlist site sponsor. I had a slightly odd issue finding tires for my GTS (12 inch rims and centre-locks). He was great. Good communication, and sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone on the phone who knows what they’re doing.

Here’s the contact details. Congrats on the early arrival, and good luck.

Thank you gentlemen! I have a couple of places here that are supposed to be Niche as well as Michelin Alpine dealers so I'll compare with Tire Rack's cost PLUS shipping. Again thank you very much for your help!

Before you make up your mind, check with GetPorscheParts.com
They seem to offer some of the best deals I've seen and they will undoubtedly have what you are looking for.
They are often mentioned on this site for reliability too.

I had given it a brief glance but prices are way beyond what I would want to spend and they didn't seem to have anything for the 2021 992s. Appreciate it though, thank you!

Only 400 miles so make it easy and drive when dry roads only and plan trip when not snowing, etc. or worst case stay in hotel if wet or fresh snow...then drive back when dry or cleared.

We're in Alaska and weather is way too unpredictable to plan a 400 mile trip (fly down) when temps can drop 30 degrees in a couple of hours. I'm still trying to see if Porsche will help as PNA told me for a courtesy/remote delivery and finalize when it's likely to actually arrive. I've got a friend who told me he'd help me out and we can drive down in his truck with the snow tires so that's one possibility. Another one is of course and depending on when it's delivered if it's close to May, drive down with the wife for her one year courtesy service for her 2020 Macan S and pick up the car then (though we've had snow in May it's more of a remote issue). Appreciate the suggestion

When I got my C4S in December, the Alpin 5 tire was only available in the 20/21" setup. I chose the Alpins over the smaller rims. The ride feels perfectly comfortable to me. Just play with the tire pressure a bit.

Yep, I will have to keep an eye on this as with all my vehicles in winter as I don't nitrogen fill my car's tires. Can you vary the alert range on tire psi as in the Touaregs?

Here is a great site developed by a Macanforum.com member

http://www.billanddot.com/tire-press...temp-calc.html

Thank you for confirming 20/21 set-up for winter.

Expensive to replace. Cheap to repair
