Why did you buy the new 992 ?

I used to have sports cars and even had considerable track time. Events took their course and I moved away from the sports cars. Fast forward some decades and I bought a BMW 4 series convertible to cruise in. Not a sports car but it drove enough better than the SUV/sedans I had been driving that I was reminded how much I enjoyed driving a great handling car. I also live near a lot of good roads to drive. I like Porsches and have had a few so time for a 992. I am enjoying it but only just over 1,000 miles on it now. Looking forward to spring.

C4 is a 365-day a year driver (even in the frozen north) with a performance envelope shockingly close to a Ferrari Enzo. It’s relatively compact, highly usable as a long-distance road car and canyon carver, and resistant to massive depreciation like Ferraris, Lambos etc. if actually used for transportation that puts significant miles on the car. It’s well built, comfortable, and at the front end of its design life cycle, and as is the case with all 911s won’t look outdated 5 or even 10 years from now. They can be had at a reasonable price point if one doesn’t go crazy with options, and they have proven to be reliable generation after generation.

I'm sure glad I didn't have to buy something my MIL approved of!

I was looking for a copy of the cartoon many years ago that appeared in the New Yorker Magazine.. It was a black and white one panel cartoon. It showed a man in a casket smiling. People around him are staring. One observer said " He owed a lot of money to the IRS"

Because my gf looks so much like my ex only 12 years younger. Wait, that's why I sent out x-mas cards with our picture on it. Sorry, got confused.

My inlaws have no say in my car choice....
i went with 911 because i wasn't ready to skip porsche and go for a Ferrari Roma. And after owning many BMWs i realized i don't like any of they new M models. all are too heavy and bloated and all have the same interior (more or less) and i already have an X5 as 2nd car. the 992 has a more super car presence than ever before I might add.
Also looked at AMG GT and R8 but they just didn't call me like the 992 which just felt right the moment i sat inside one. I snatched the only c2s allocation they had this year and then went for the test drive hahahaa.
