Default screen protector

The Infotainment system on the new 992 requires frequent use of the touch screen, unlike a BMW that allows multiple alternative to touching the infotainment screen,
Constant contact may result of scratching or marring of the surface over time.
A stick on plastic screen protector will minimize possible damage. This model is offered by SunCoast

I just left the factory one in place. Seems to work great. Is this any better?

I have my factory on my cayenne since last year and still new.
Will leave factory on my 992 when it arrives as well, not planning on removing it only if it peels of on its own or the kids remove it lol.

I prefer the SunCoast variety. They said that when it is time to remove it, perhaps for resale, that it leaves no residue. I wonder, if over time, the factory cover will degrade and leave a greasy sludge that is hard to remove.

I use the factory one as well at the recommendation of my SA.

I'm leaving the original cover in place unless or until it fails of it's own accord. If/when it does an aftermarket glass cover (like cell phones) is available via Amazon for a tad less than $14.00.

I bought the Suncoast one and applied it. It fits perfectly. No bubbles.

I bought and placed the SunCoast one as well, but the Screen Protector from Amazon is a much better item. It is real glass ! As the Screen Protector for the I phone is better when it is glass, so would this be !

I used the factory cover as well until the Suncoast one arrived. Main difference is that I noticed the factory cover because the right bottom edge wasn’t fully affixed while now with the Suncoast version, I don’t notice it’s on. Definitely recommend it.

Interesting - How are you finding the benefits vs. disadvantages of your tempered glass PCM screen protector? From reading Amazon reviews of similar products it seems a trade-off of reduced fingerprints vs. more glossy and therefore additional glare.

The glass version is more like the glass it covers than the flexible plastic. Also it shows less fingerprints and has the protection and durability of hard glass.

better than a plastic protector

Removed original one and went with aftermarket glass on one Amazon and it was okay but be careful if you must reposition...its one use/apply only...mine shattered on trying to reposition.

Had this one initially and it shattered when I tried to reposition it so went with the SunCoast one. Both are good options.

Has anyone actually experienced a scratched or damaged PCM screen? I ask as my research was that short of wiping a diamond across it you're not going to scratch it. Hence I left mine 'naked' and have a microfiber cloth in the glovebox which cleans any marks straight off it.

Over time, I have heard that there is hazing of Infotainment Screens. This is not related to how it is maintained. That alone is a reason
to cover the screen with a screen protector.

Sorry but why would a cover stop hazing?
