Default Driving gloves suggestion?

Does anybody wear driving gloves when they drive? I notice that my Porsche dealer and even Suncoast doesn’t offer these

Im thinking about something that breathes in the summer and also touchscreen friendly. Any suggestions on a quality product that doesn’t cost $300?

Driving gloves were very much necessary back in days of old, when steering wheels were made of wood, and high performance cars lacked power steering, they were used for grip as hands were sweaty.. In a modern sports car they are not needed and leather does not "breathe", sorry. However, if they appeal to you, then go for it, Most driving gloves today are for racers and made of Nomex.

Forzieri makes very nice gloves (I buy this label for my wife as gifts, their leather is exceptional). Try these perhaps.

Tip: Don't show up at an Autocross or HPDE event with leather driving gloves though - unless you have very thick skin or are in a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

^ The gloves are not for grip. Nor as a fashion statement.

I have messed up 2 leather steering wheels with my sweaty hands. I don’t want to ruin the steering wheel of my 911, which is my main motivation.

This is how you take care of your steering wheel.

When I purchased my BMW F80 M3 in 2017, the dealer gave me some BMW M driving gloves. I only used them to drive once. But they where the most comfortable, well fitting leather gloves I had every had. I ended up using them for cold hikes, putting the snow cables on, or riding our dirt bikes in the desert. I thought they where excellent for the price. They have some elastic to them as well, so they fit good and tight too.

^ Nice suggestion! I'd buy those right now but they say M3 on them. I don't own an M3 (or BMW for that matter--nothing against them, of course) so it would look kind of strange

I received a pair of Aimé Leon Dore (964) gloves as a gift several years ago. I used them once & they’re super comfortable. Not sure how much they cost though.

I’ll probably get more use out of them with the ‘78 here soon. They’ll fit the theme a little better as I just couldn’t really get used to them with a modern 911.

Should visit UK.
A lot of drivers are like Chris Harris, wearing gloves on the track with NO helmets.
