Default 992 GTS - When??

Any word on how far off we are to having the ability to order a GTS. I am getting more and more serious about ordering a C2S and seems like its a few months wait if I even can get a build allocation... so is the GTS right around the corner or not until tail end of 2021?

If you want the car for the upcoming spring/summer, get the C2S. If you can wait until next year, then, wait for the GTS if that’s what you want.

I’d guess first wave allocations may arrive 2022.

The quote from this magazine is pure guessing. Just to have the headlines.
Regarding the "T" they even ignore, that there never has been a such kind of model in the middle of the generation's lifetime. Always at the end.

Anyway, I would not expect the GTS before Q3/2021. So US delievery in Q2 2022?!

.1 gts normally starts to deliver when .2 is about to be or already is announced.

Therefore, unless Porsche offers something really interesting (VTG 3.0 turbo or even a detuned 3.8 TT, which is highly unlikely) and not overshadowed by the middle life performance improvement which traditionally is huge, the 992.1 gts will be obsolete very soon, like 991.1.

No.

The 997 and 991.1 GTSes were low numbers final year models. The 991.1 GTS is the fastest Carrera and the last Carrera with a proper N/A engine. It's a bit special and holds its value very well.

For the 991.2 they just blasted them out there. The 991.2 Carrera and Carrera S were made from '16 to 19'. The Carrera/Targa GTS and Carrera/Targa 4 GTS were out from 17' to 19'.
And we know that the 992 GTS is right around the corner. It will probably be a great car, but without the flair and rareness of the 997 and 991.1 GTSes.

Agree this is just automotive speculation and from UK journal...they have no idea likely especially for US model most likely!

Most likely scenario....not gonna be avail for 2022 on US shores until maybe mid year probably later.

They're still having issues with MY21 Carrera S allocations so given that and production issues due to COVID19 and other stuff with sub contractors and then global economies I'd guess we may not see it until later than we thought with intro of the 992.2 upgrades along with a Carrera T following somewhat afterwards.

991.1 GTS's still sell for over 6 figures. Sign me up for obsolete depreciation curve any day.

I was told summer '21 by my SA a few days back -- for ordering. Shipments 2 - 3 months later.

Until Porsche affirmatively announces and has it on the configurator it is a guess - might be an educated guess, but a guess nevertheless. What has never been discussed and may suddenly pop into the picture is some type of hybrid 911.

Dealers have been told that allocations are slated to be released at the end of March for June deliveries. Now that was as of late October and I passed on a C2S slot given the March allocation. We’ll see. I hope they improve the sound...
