992 GTS - When??
#226
I too received noticed from my SA that the earliest available allocations will be Q1 22 but the first few are spoken for...meaning they took deposits for non existing allocations....and my SA was very clear that he expects them to receive "limited" GTS allocations until the end of 22.....I don't think I have the energy to call around SoCal looking for an allocation. Might wait out the storm and try again later.

Just got a call from my SA that he has a Targa GTS allocation: Feb build and April delivery. Wants $15K ADM. I am a buyer at $5K in a heartbeat and maybe even at $10K. $15 is becoming hard to swallow.

992 Targa GTS
Hey all, I have an allocation for a targa gts and have a question I'm hoping to get answered. I built my car with the pdk but I hate the shaver(gear shift), however I noticed the new gt3 has a more classic gear shift that looks like the 7 speed (but isn't and yes I know I should get the 7 speed). I was wondering if that is going to be an option on later models such as mine. Thanks.

Looks like a lot of 992 targa GTS allocations came in today which is awesome. I got a call from my dealer saying they got one and can give it to me for 10k ADM. I’m torn - I initially was thinking I would just do MSRP and wait it out (12 months etc but I didn’t mind a wait to be honest) but now I could do this and get the car March / April… It feels weird that 10k is only a roughly 5 to 6% markup which doesn’t sound insane but at the same time it is 10k… would others jump at this or risk it and wait it out?

The GTS and Gt3 are two different cars bought for different reasons . Neither are a "poor man's" anything . Both are exceptional in their class .

Seems to be the same for anyone seeking any 992 model now a days. The lack of inventory avail will likely last thru 2022 my SA said. He was delivering a brand new to them 997 (looked to be a 2005-2009) the other day when I was in the dealership and like most dealers have embraced the used car model to keep sales and staff afloat these days in 2020 and 2021! 2022 should be no better or different.

Targa GTS is a rare bird. Fewer made than almost any iteration, I believe. Resale should be very strong. It's doubtful you'll find another available allocation and get one at sticker by cold calling. Established clients, with some exceptions I'm sure, are likely the only ones getting sticker/discount on a Targa GTS.
Congrats...
