I can understand why you say this, but the thing is, it was put there without his/her knowing. Never discussed or disclosed, and not factory, also it’s not stated who put it there and for what purpose which given the situation most would be concerned

Very likely disclosed somewhere in the paperwork completed when picking up the car. If someone is making loan or lease payments, it's not really their car and it makes sense that companies want to track their property in the event of a default.
My GT3 came with a Stargard gps unit, which had to be part of the purchase deal. Or at least I didn't try very hard to reject it, and I'm able to log in and see location history and realtime data on the vehicle.

Not sure what your vehicle year is, but this can be done with the equipment built in to the car as of 991.2 or so on. You don't need a 3rd party GPS unit to see those things.

x2, for an annual fee they (PNA) can track it.

Any battery issues?
