!) It was a $ 157K car, not a low-option, low-rent $ 130K unit.
2) Rich people get rich by taking discounts and investing that money. I bought three brand new Porsches in the past 8 months, how many did you get?
3) GPS trackers are for stolen cars, the OBD2 trackers that plug in your port are for how you drive.
get your facts straight, boyz.

I am a complete douche - think I care? HA! Not in the least. I'm also faster around the track than you and can pull the engine and repair it myself so I'm a douche x 2. Read the little print in my Avatar, that sums me up perfectly.
Keep it coming.....

This thread turned into the classic old white male d*** comparison of who has the bigger one. No wonder Gen Z is wanting to get rid of them all...

My dealer said he installed it on every new car and charges $95 for it. I live in a condo and park 1 floor underground. I noticed that my car would not automatically unlock when I approached it in the garage but works when outside. When I had the Smart Top unit installed I mentioned that to the installer. He said that the GPS type units ramp up the power until they can get a signal and when Stargard increased it's signal in the garage it over rode the unlocking signal. I had the dealer take Stargard off and return my $95 and everything works normal. As some have said if someone steals my car I really don't want it back and would rather have insurance replace the car even if it cost extra money. I had a car stolen years ago and when I got it back it had been wrecked and was never the same after I fixed it. I traded it in after 6 months.

I was hooking up my direct-to-battery wires today for my battery tender and noticed two wires on the terminals that were definitely not factory. Curious, I followed the wire and pulled this out from under the battery case where it was stuck on the low side. What the heck? A little Google action shows it's a GPS Tracker. The manufacturer says its used for fleet management or sometimes requested by finance companies to they know where the vehicle is located. Now I know why they let you go on test drives by yourself, they know exactly where you are and how fast you are going in their car with a high degree of confidence.
I called my sales guy and he verified its in all their new cars (even the Macan I bought from them three months earlier). He said I can toss it if I want, they pay $ 399 for 3 years monitoring, all done at the dealership level. At first I was going to toss it, then remembered my insurance company gives an additional discount if there is a GPS tracker on the vehicles, so I'll leave it on for now, but after three years probably not.
It's attached directly to your battery in the car if you want to see if yours has one.

There was no sticker or any kind of notification this was in the vehicle. I discovered the tracker when I was poking around in the battery box hooking up an SAE plug for a battery charger.

A very good point about potential for power drain. Anyone snap a picture of the tracker in situ?
