Default 991.2 Turbo or 992c2s?

Just curious what you would go with? Has anybody compared these two? I haven’t had the chance to drive either since there are none near me. Would appreciate the feedback!

I now own a 2020 992 C4S, but, I have regrets that I didn't get the 991.2 Turbo. Now we are not talking about the 991.2 Turbo S. The Turbo does not have Ceramic brakes and has slightly lower horsepower than the Turbo S.
Although the Turbo has less tech than the 992, it has noticably more umph off the line. Also, say what you will about the shifter in the 991, it is a usable, quasi manual that the 992 does not have. Many times as I am shifting with the paddles on my 992, I miss this option with my puny shaver shift.
I like the rain mode, the improved tech for the infotainment system and the rear wheel drive. It is a great ride with winter tires in the snow.

In retrospect, I could have saved a great deal on a 2018 highly optioned 991.2 and have had more fun with the car.

.2 Turbo has more brutal power delivery. C2s is definitely fast though, make no mistake.

Carrera is a better driving car in terms of steering feel, dynamics and sound.

Looks are subjective. I think a properly spec’ed C2s can look better. That said the Turbo does have a different kind of presence.

992 Turbo and C2s is a totally different proposition IMO.

Are you saying that the Carrera C2S is a better driving car?

Steering and handling yes.

Power no.

Depends on what you’re looking for. There is something to be said about the Turbo power delivery. Ideally you can drive both and decide.

I agree with this regarding the driving dynamics. I will add the extremely old tech in the 991.2 would be a non starter.

I know it’s a sports car but I still don’t like to look at an interface that looks like it’s from 2008

I'd rather not look at an interface at all...

As this is the 992 section of the forum, it won't shock you to hear this, but I would vote 992C2S. The updated tech is nice (if thats meaningful to you) and having driven the 991.2 and the 992 I can say the 992 is hands down more pleasurable to drive. If power is really a concern, a tune will put you within spitting distance of .2T power.

I drove a 991.2 TTS and 992 C2S back to back and bought the 992 C2S. The power/drivability/interior/tech on the 992 was enough to win me over.....YMMV.

I am currently considering the same thing as the original poster and found this comment sticking with me the most. I want the power of the TT but I think the stick is pushing me more towards a 992. Guess I need to get out there and just drive both to get a feel for things. A car that is more alive and has a more driver connected feel is typically going to get my vote!
