The Canadian market for used 911s is already pretty small compared to the U.S., and if resale is a concern it would be prudent to stay away from a build that is polarizing. I don't think RY itself is a big potential problem, but adding RL gauge faces and seatbelts or other interior trim bits will push the car into "not interested" territory for some folks (I would put myself in that camp). GT Silver is the safest bet, followed by Chalk...but then those colors aren't going to be interesting to a buyer that wants something a bit flashier. Practically, X years down the road condition, mileage, and maintenance records are going to be more important for resale than any of the colors you're contemplating.
Too many white/silver/black cars on the road. Get the one you like the most with the least offensive interior choices (i.e. no yellow crap inside of it) and live your dream
Thanks for all the feedback/inputs.....Usually I don't worry about the paint choice, as I typically lease my car for 3-4 years, so I get what I want, and return the car hassle free. With the lease rates so terrible at Porsche Canada, this time around, I will be paying for the car outright, and if 3-4 years down the road, I catch the new car bug, then I'll sell it. Just a bit hesitant to put out 160Kish CAD on something, and making a choice now that will hinder me in 3-4 years, either in terms of time it takes to move it, or lower resale. Really not even the resale value, more so the time wasted to move it in the future.
When I would be happy with either RY, Chalk, or GT Silver.
No time wasted to "move it" if you trade it in on a new 911.
I used to really scratch my head on the more “out there” colors like Miami Blue, etc but after spending a good deal of my time with my car I almost regret getting something with a bit more personality. My big move was grabbing the less popular silver (Dolomite) which gets a ton of compliments but at the end of the day it’s just another silver car in the sea of them over here in the Bay Area.
Get yellow if you like it. (Also because yellow is awesome.) Yes, there are less buyers than for silver but there are more people than you think that only want “fun colors.” I sold my yellow 911 quickly and more than one perspective buyer told me they were only shopping for that color. It’s the same math on a manual transmission. Smaller buyer pool but since that pool has less choices it helps on resale.
Chalk with black accents .. classy and attractive but not ostentatious (Yellow) nor ubiquitous (Silver)
What this guy said...I had Agate Gray in my 991.1 I traded and loved it but then also have a Daytona Gray Audi so wanted my 992 to have a different look. My son's BMW is also Mineral Gray too! So instead of going with Agate Gray again I eventually went with Chalk/Black and it is striking. Not white unless in direct sunlight and LED interior lights but with clouds or at night the real subtle grays really come out. Other color I did look at were GT Silver (classic) and Aventurine Gray...also nice but I felt too subtle at times overall. But Chalk just made me do a double take every time I saw it.
Get what you want tho...but be aware that RY will probably have less takers at resale and offer a bit less maybe a few hundred dollars or so from a dealer and maybe more if not conservatively done (RY and white or red interior or something really off)..so RY and black is where I'd go. Thought about RY too and my wife said nice but only for a warm weather car and it will ALWAYS get attention...much like Python Green and my other fav Lava Orange. You'll always be noticed...some don't mind...others do as there are sometimes you don't want THAT attention at least for me. I had a Speed Yellow 987 Boxster and everyone KNEW where I was always! Boss knew when I was at work and when I left and anyone who knew me had a pretty good idea where I had been or visited recently. Not a great thing IMHO...at some times. LOL!
I would do it for sure. RY and SY are great colours...and if resale is a concern, consider it will be one of the only ones on the market and for somebody who loves RY their ONLY option making it a quick sale. Glass half full.

I ordered in April 2019, and took delivery in September 2019. 5k miles on the clock.
I have had 2 Yellow 911s and never regretted the decision, After all the first 911 (901) was Yellow in 1963, Dr Porsche felt that 911s should be painted in Safety colors
