Default Open edges around PDK Shifter

There is a design flaw around the lower trim of the PDK Shifter. In the standard and aluminum option, there is a gap that allows the accumulation of debris. Also the edge of the metal is unsupported as it moves slightly when pressed.
There are two options offered on the configurator to address this issue;

open edge allowing debris to collect

Paldeo wood seals all edges and compliments a dark interior
Leather or Wood.
I prefer the Paldeo wood as it compliments the dark interior of my car.

I specifically ordered mine with the "Interior Trim Inlays in Leather" RPO Code: 7TM option, to deal specifically with this gap.

You can replace it with a leather Console Trim like this

Those photos aren’t apples to apples. Take a zoomed in shot on your paldeo wood...

Every trim has a small gap. It’s actually identical to the piano black trim running along the edges of the center tunnel

The manual transmission guys are probably such neanderthals, they will probably never notice the part in question is the same, no matter what transmission you have.

That whole console is one big "design flaw."

Hey, it's not Porsche's fault if you were too cheap to populate all the blanks with real buttons...
