Yes, Really! The distance between the trim and the panel (the gap) needs to be sufficient to accommodate whatever covering is used on the panel. They're not going to make two different panels or two different trims. I don't care for carbon fiber or the wood look film covering. The first IMHO is the current "Flavor of the Week" and the wood film simply looks far to fake, which it is. But I do like leather (or pleather) appointments and the thickness of such a covering does an acceptable job of filling a good portion of the gap. Also the radius that the leather cover generates, helps visually as a distraction from the gap
.

All the trims have a gap. It’s really no big deal. My 991 even had small gaps around some of the trim.

Leather 🤯

is any of the wood trim real wood? Or even a real wood veneer? Or it’s all a sticker?

I’d be more inclined to call it a veneer. A surface texture and coloring that is an excellent imitation of real wood. I doubt that there’s anything that could peel off. But because it is plastic, it is subject to oxidation. Over time that will become visually evident. Leather isn’t perfect by any means, but the ravages of time tend to be seen as “character” rather than as a defect.

i see what you are referring to, and while it can be a troublesome to some, i don't see it as significant enough to bother me - i went with the carbon, so i guess i'll be buying a interior detail brush and mini-vac with the ant-eater attachment
