The only actual quote from a Porsche executive runs "If we make good progress, all new 911 Carrera sold worldwide could be supplied with 100 percent eFuels as early as 2024".
This sounds like the executive is saying that all 911s from 2024 could run on 100% synthetic fuels (by way of ECU tuning etc...), not that all 911s from 2024 must run on 100% synthetic fuels. Basically this is probably going to be like FlexFuel vehicles -- you can run E85 on them, but that doesn't mean you have to.
Everything else in that article seems like it is based on a misinterpretation of what the executive actually said.

This really isn't new news, is it?

So this means we can safely assume the LCI is coming for the 2025 MY with the possibility to run on synthetic fuel... seems plausible. My question is, would there be special filling stations like hydrogen...

Fueling from home is already available, if your home is plumbed for natural gas.
SoCalGas is already in the business. Go figure.

Natural Gas/Methane/CH4 that is derived from renewable carbon neutral sources.
Solar or Wind Power Generated Electricity is used to dissociate Water (H2O). Now you combine the resulting free Hydrogen (H) with Carbon (C) from a source of CO2, such as biogas. Then using what is called the Sabatier reaction, Methane/CH4 is produced.

If Porsche were General Motors, they'd build synthetic fuel cars and then crush them.

AOC and the 'Green New kind of Stoopid' coming soon. There will be choices and tradeoffs. Electrify & have crazy 0-60s, lose consciousness kind of torque and less maintenance at the expense of all things handling.
I enjoy both experiences today ... with two very different cars.
