Default Targa Delay

Has anyone with a Targa on order (or any other model for that matter) experienced recent delays in their production dates?

My car production started on 10/30 (according to TYD) and was originally scheduled to finish 11/06. The November 6th date came and went and production completion was pushed back to 11/20. The second date just passed and now TYD pushed production back to 12/11. Perhaps this is a COVID related delay and other orders are affected as well?

Yes, I have a Targa on order and had a similar experience. My completion date was originally 11/13 and after that date came and went, the new date was updated to 12/18. The delivery date also changed from mid Jan to mid Feb.

My understanding is that a lot of the Targa buyers have had a lot of TYD date jumping around. I think people report their TYD jumping around all over the place and I am sure that Covid is at least playing some part. Not sure how much the factory has slowed or if it has but I have to believe there has been some slow down. The big problem is that it is hard to get concrete information and I am not sure that your SA will know anymore than you do.

@brucewinter
I hope I am wrong but I think you might be in for a bit of bad news this week. it appears that when the dates change they change after the start date and so it is possible/probable you will only find out on 11/28 that your dates have changed. Again I hope I am wrong for your sake

As another data point...not a Targa but I had a C2S cab pretty much follow my TYD estimates the last week or so...actuals were SOP, 11/12, prod complete 11/18, trans Emden 11/19, at port 11/20.

And as another data point my C2 was meant to go in on 11/20 and went in on 11/18 and I am expecting it to exit on 23 or 24. Will keep you posted. If that happens then it would suggest it is a Targa issue and if it doesn't it could be a larger Covid issue. My build is ultra simple and so it should be a simple build not requiring any specific visits to the speciality section and so it really should come out on Monday or Tuesday

First time responding so hope it does what it is supposed to.
Our Targa 4S went into production on 10-29, a day early. Scheduled for completion on 11-6. On 11-9, TYD updated to 12-4 for a completion date. The sales agent and I kinda think it was because we have the Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior ordered and this Covid thing. Have an Atlanta PEC delivery and it is scheduled to be there on 1-17-2021. So figuring an early to middle February collection. Fingers crossed!

My build doesn't have any Exclusive Manufaktur items, so I'm not sure what, if any, component might be holding it up.

I hope you all get your cars very soon!

My SA thinks it’s the Targa demand.

Could it possibly be a supply chain issue with the roof mechanism or rear glass? COVID has had different impacts on the supply chain dependent on where parts come from. Those features are unique to the Targa. Just a thought. TYD indicates my Targa is still scheduled for the original production date of February 5.

My TTS was a week ahead on schedule, so COVID can’t play a role. Probably supply?

The issue is not just Porsche but also their suppliers. If they cannot get parts, they have to delay production. COVID is affecting the entire supply chain. Everything is starting to slow down due to COVID issues.
