First-year service is an oil change and a bunch of visual inspections...cost me about $375 Canadian.

just to confirm the cpo parameters:
1) original car warranty punched in feb'2020
2) looking to purchase this car in nov'2020
3) original warranty runs through feb'2024
4) cpo warranty if purchased extends to feb'2026? is that correct?
Seriously, my friend, do you want the car or not?

If you do, why are you worried about +/- $1000 (give or take) in terms of the price of the CPO?

Once you have the car and start driving it, that cost differential of the CPO price will be as important and memorable as the coins you dropped in the tip jar on your morning Starbucks run.

If you can get it CPO at the dealer cost, do it. if you want to pay for it, think of it as buying an extra 2 years of warranty.

Note my build is a 2020 C2S , I purchased it CPO with 2300km (1430 miles). I have the remaining factory warranty plus 2 years.
I don't know about in Canada, but here in the U.S. the whole CPO checklist is pretty much a sham. A dealer, if it wanted to, could CPO a car with frame damage, repainted bodywork, rebuilt engine, and bald tires if it chose to do so. Ok, exaggeration, but you get my point.

I can't vouch for everywhere in Canada, but here where I am, they can't pass a car off with CPO unless it's actually good to go. We answer to Porsche Canada, so I don't know if it really makes a difference. not saying that the checklist isn't crap, I'm sure some of the mechanics just fly through it, but they wouldn't be able to get away with any of the things you mentioned.

This stuff leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

That 100 point inspection is a required part of the CPO. And they’re charging you for it as a separate line item ? That’s like me charging $5.00 for a hotdog, and then adding $1.99 for the bun. It’s low brow nickel and dime-ing.

The CPO for a 911 costs the dealer around ~ $2K. They’ll usually try to hit you for $2800-3000. I’m not sure what pitt911 is talking about. The CPO is the OEM warranty. Slightly diminished and extended.

When I transported, the dealer took care of the arrangements. In this case they could get a lower rate and I wanted it covered. I payed for mine to go to them uncovered. And they took care of mine. Unless you move cars constantly, they should have more leverage on price. Or by the sounds of it, they may try to ‘wet their beak’ on the transport as well.

The reason the dealer cost matters is it tells you what a good OTD price is. Anything below dealer cost is a non-starter, anything above is if you're wanting to compensate the dealer for doing it.

Stick to: "This is what I want and this is what I'll pay." How the Dealer comes up with the OTD price is their prerogative. What I write a check for is mine!
