I have had a engine message that my engine temp was high when I was on a slow 3 mile ride to the store, and when I came out and started the car a dash message flashed saying to drive slowly to the dealer,. Because I needed gas (70 mile reserve) I stopped and filled up. When I restarted, the message was gone. and has been since. This sounds silly, but can a low gas warning trigger a :slowdown message? My engine temps have been running 200 to 220, is that normal?

I had a 991.2 that gave a high heat warning just once, after driving a while at highway speeds. It never did it a second time, but didn't trust it and went to dealer. Turns out there was a fuel pump issue that was the subject of a service bulletin/under warranty replacement. Glad I took it in at the time. Have not heard of the same issue with a 992 on this forum, but who knows. FYI

Does anyone know the typical ranges for normal, sport and sport plus in the 992
I know in my Boxster ironically the average temperature in sport mode was 205 with a max of 210 irrespective of how hard I drove and in regular mode it averaged 215 with a max of 225.
Could never figure how driving hard in sports mode led to a lower temp then relaxed driving in regular mode but likely having to do with increased air flow in sports mode

200-220 is completely normal in any other car I’ve owned. I don’t know the specifics for Porsche but that sounds pretty normal. My 2014 M5 would easily get up to 240-250 on spirited drives because of how much heat it would generate but it would cool down quickly.

I thought of this thread yesterday as I was driving around yesterday and I ranged from 205 - 222 (F) most of the time it was around 216F (it was around 56 degrees F. This was just cruising around not getting after it much.
